Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to cover both the line graphs and the survey tables, but it misses several key requirements for a Band 6 or higher. The description of the visual data contains inaccuracies and is extremely simplistic. For example, the writer states that the speed camera fines end with the amount '200,000' and later corrects it to '1600,000', reflecting poor control and confusion over the data. Furthermore, the overview of the charts is missing completely, as the writer dives straight into specific data points without summarising the main trends. The survey percentages are reported adequately, but the lack of an overall summary and the flawed interpretation of the graphs limit the task response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response is written as a single, dense paragraph, completely lacking appropriate paragraphing. There is no clear logical progression or organisation of information, as the writer jumps abruptly from fines to fatalities, and then straight into the survey data without any transitional phrases or cohesive devices. Referencing is also problematic, with pronouns and connectors used incorrectly or omitted entirely (e.g., 'Some people believe that the speed camera reduce... they are just 32% and 60% people say no'). This lack of structural organisation and basic cohesive devices results in a disjointed text.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive (e.g., 'people', 'amount', 'increase', 'number'). The writer attempts some less common vocabulary related to the survey results, but the word choices and collocations are frequently unnatural or inaccurate (e.g., 'was too much increase', 'actual fines start from'). There are also basic word form errors, such as using 'reduces' or 'reduce' incorrectly. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for conveying very simple meanings, but it falls short of the expectations for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences strung together with coordinating conjunctions. There are frequent, noticeable grammatical errors throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the speed camera reduce', '56% of the people knows'), missing verbs, and incorrect prepositions. Punctuation is also poorly handled, with run-on clauses linked improperly by commas. These errors frequently strain the reader and indicate a weak control over basic sentence construction.
