Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task partially, attempting to describe both the graphs and the survey data, but some parts are underdeveloped or inaccurate. The overview provided in the second paragraph is overly simplistic and contains vague phrasing like 'as the time spent' and 'road accident face fluctuates'. Furthermore, there are significant inaccuracies in reporting the data, such as stating that the speed camera fines increased to '6000000' in year 5, which misreads the chart's scale. While key trends are partially identified, such as the rise in fines and the fluctuations in fatalities, the lack of precision and limited extension of ideas prevent a more complete coverage of the visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation with attempts at paragraphing, but the response lacks clear overall progression. The essay is divided into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs for the charts and survey data, but the logical flow between sentences and paragraphs is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inaccurately, such as 'As well as,' and 'on the other hand,' which are not always suited to the context. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the mechanical transitions make the progression feel disjointed rather than naturally linked.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical errors include 'road activities' instead of 'road accidents', 'perople', 'spped', 'significantely', 'upto', 'disageed', and 'approxamitely'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'revenue' and 'fatalities', but these are undermined by frequent spelling slips and awkward phrasing like 'road accident face fluctuates' and 'people who were not agreed'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the speed camera fines has increased'), incorrect preposition use ('placed in roads'), and awkward phrasing in relative clauses ('people who are agree with'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak, with run-on constructions and missing punctuation. These frequent errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and reflect a lack of control over complex grammatical patterns.
