SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagrams show the significant number of drivers in the country of Britain, who caught by speed cameras, driving more than the maximum required speed. It also shows the increasing number of civilian who got killed in road accidents during the eight-year period ever since the evolution of speed cameas. On the tother hand, the tables illustrate the outcome of the survey about the opinion of the citizen regrading speed camers.
Let me begin with the speed camera fines. It is evident that penalties for speeding up significantly increasing since the one-year. During the eight year of implementtaion, there was one million and six hundred thousand fines collected from the those who broke the rules. Going back from the seven-year period, there was one million and two hundred thousand fines collected from those who did not accord to the law.
Furthermore, during the eight year period, it can be observed the steady number of road accident fatalities. Sincthe first year of the implementation speed cameras until the its eight year, there were at least three thousand people died due the reckless driving. The maximum number had reached to roughly three thousand and five hundred unfortunate people.
Finally, the table tells us that sixty percent of the citizens answered no, which implies that sped cameras does not decrease the number of road accidents. Another survey about the main reason for the installation of speed cameras, 71% of the respondents rchose to raise the revenue. It also reported that 56% of the people think that there were too many speed cameras on the roads.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, as the reporting of data is incomplete and contains significant inaccuracies. While the writer attempts to describe the main trends, some details are misread or poorly developed. For instance, the reference to road accident fatalities states that 'at least three thousand people died', which lacks precision, and the summary of the survey data is overly simplistic. The overall overview is weak, and the response lacks a clear, cohesive summary of the main trends across the charts and tables. To reach a higher band, the writer must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully covered, data points are cited more accurately, and a clear overview of the overall trends is provided.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs detailing the charts, and finishing with the survey tables. This fully meets the lower band requirements and shows elements of the next band through the use of sequencing devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'Finally'. However, progression is sometimes hindered by awkward transitions and repetitive phrasing, and referencing is not always clear, as seen in phrases like 'the eight year of implementtaion'. While information is logically grouped, the mechanical use of cohesive devices prevents the response from achieving a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'implementation', 'fatalities', and 'revenue', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling, such as 'civilian' instead of 'civilians', 'evolution' instead of 'introduction', 'cameas', 'tother', and 'regrads'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary range and focus on accurate word forms and correct spellings, ensuring that less common lexical items are used appropriately and precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside some flawed attempts at complex ones. Frequent grammatical and punctuation errors are present throughout the text, such as missing articles ('the eight year period', 'speed cameras does not'), incorrect prepositions ('fines collected from the those', 'died due the reckless driving'), and faulty relative clauses ('who caught by speed cameras'). These errors occur frequently and can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must improve control over basic sentence patterns, verb forms, and preposition usage, while increasing the proportion of error-free complex sentences.
