Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at 139 words and leaving the final sentence unfinished. The content addresses the prompt only minimally. While it attempts to describe the main trends from the graphs and mention parts of the tables, the information is heavily distorted or inaccurate. For instance, the student misinterprets road accident fatalities as people who have been 'murdered', and incorrectly labels the currency of the speed camera fines as dollars. Furthermore, key details are missing due to the incomplete nature of the response, preventing full coverage of the visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The information and ideas are not arranged coherently. The text lacks logical progression and organisation, resulting in a disjointed structure. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with a lack of clear transitions between sentences and ideas. Reference words are occasionally unclear, and cohesive devices are inadequate or faulty, making the overall flow very difficult for the reader to follow. The abrupt ending further disrupts any sense of structural cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and prone to severe inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and meaning. Words like 'amount of drivers' instead of 'number of drivers', and 'murdered' instead of 'killed', indicate a limited and strained lexical range. There are also spelling errors such as 'throughtoutb'. These noticeable errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted ability to handle vocabulary appropriately for an academic task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The range of grammatical structures is very limited, and frequent errors occur throughout the text. There are issues with article usage, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'the table reveal' instead of 'reveals', and awkward phrasings like 'in case of fast driving'. Attempts at complex sentences are faulty, and the heavy presence of errors across simple and complex forms strains the reader and occasionally distorts the intended meaning.
