Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both graphs and the survey, and your overview identifies the main contrast: fines rose substantially, while fatalities remained above 3,000. Most reported figures are broadly accurate, including the first and final fine totals and the survey’s 60% negative response and 71% revenue view. However, some details are imprecise: fines in year six were about 780,000, not 800,000, and fatalities ended at about 3,350, not 3,200. The overview’s claim that the survey gives a “negative review” is broad; it would be clearer to identify the strongest findings, such as most respondents believing cameras do not reduce accidents and that there are too many. The final survey question also omits the 17% who said the number was about right. This is relevant coverage, though some features need fuller and more precise reporting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The report has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, separate discussion of the graphs, and a paragraph on the survey. This makes the information easy to follow, and sequencing phrases such as “In the following years,” “In the 7th year,” and “The third question” help guide the reader. The organisation is coherent, but some links are mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated year-by-year openings. The transition from the graph discussion to the survey is clear, though the survey paragraph could group the three findings more systematically. To strengthen progression, compare the broad trends first and then select key figures, using more varied linking and clearer references rather than listing each year in sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends and survey results, including “surge,” “soared,” “increased,” and “fell,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “fataities,” “deaths happening for road accident,” “exceeding the limit speed,” and “a negative review from people altogether.” Spelling errors such as “camra” and “redure” also reduce precision. Some expressions are repeated, especially “number” and “people think.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “road fatalities,” “drivers caught speeding,” and “respondents believed.” A wider range of precise reporting verbs and nouns would make the account more fluent, while careful proofreading would prevent spelling slips from distracting the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the overview clause “while deaths … has stayed above 3000” and the sentence beginning “60% people think … where 32% replied.” The report’s meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical control is uneven. There are agreement and article errors, for example “line graphs depicts” and “a increase,” as well as awkward sentence construction in “the number became 1600,000 which is double.” Tense and sentence-boundary control also need attention: “the 2nd line graph” begins a sentence with a lowercase letter, and several sentences lack articles or use incomplete patterns. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence structure, while retaining your attempts at complex comparisons.
