Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both graphs and the survey, and your overview identifies the main contrast: fines rose substantially while fatalities fluctuated. The figures for fines, including 200,000 initially, about 800,000 in year six and 1,600,000 in year eight, are broadly accurate. You also report the survey’s main findings, especially that 60% rejected the cameras’ effect on accidents and 71% thought revenue was the main reason for installation. However, the fatalities are described only as ranging from 3,000 to 3,300, whereas the chart reaches about 3,350, and the overview could state more clearly that fatalities showed no sustained trend. Some survey details are less fully explained, and “people are not happy” is a broad interpretation rather than a precise summary of the mixed responses.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable report structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on the graphs and a final paragraph on survey results. This helps the reader follow the main categories of information. However, progression within the graph paragraph is sometimes awkward, and several linking expressions are either mechanical or unclear, such as “this trend was continue” and “while” at the start of the introduction. The long sequence of yearly figures would be easier to follow if grouped into stages and connected with clearer comparisons. Punctuation also disrupts cohesion: missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent capitalisation make sentence boundaries difficult to identify. Use a small range of accurate links, and keep each sentence focused on one comparison or trend.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “fluctuated,” “revenue,” “road safety” and “accounted for,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “the number of Fines are increased” and “the number of Road accident is fluctuated” do not express the trends naturally; “money was collected” also mislabels the chart, which records fines rather than money collected. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “installtion,” “neligibly,” “privious” and “camreas.” Some phrases, such as “complete amount in number,” are difficult to interpret. Build a more reliable set of trend expressions and check spelling and word forms before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example the sentence describing the rise in fines through years seven and eight. However, control of sentence structure is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, tense, articles and clause formation recur. Examples include “number of Fines are increased,” “people were not thought,” and “it was install”; these should use appropriate subject–verb agreement and passive or reporting structures. The opening also joins sentences without clear punctuation, while “First year after installtion of speed cameras there were 200,000 money was collected” contains an incomplete and confusing construction. Aim first for accurate, complete sentences, then add complex clauses selectively. Consistent past-tense reporting and careful sentence boundaries would make the data easier to understand.
