SPEED CAMERA FINES and ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES
Student answer (Band 4.5)
The graph illustrates how manay drivers were fined for over speeding through speed cameras installed on road and how placing these speed cameras have impacted on the number of people being killed by accidents. Both these analysis are based on 8 years period. The table shows the thoughts of the people on speed cameras through a survey.
Een though speed camera were installed the number of fines have increased more and more. In the first year, almost 200,000 people were fined and in next 4 years the number of fined indivisuals didn't raise much such as in 2nd year it was 400,000, 3rd year

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The opening identifies the two graphs and the survey, and you begin to report the rise in fines. However, the response is incomplete: it stops partway through the second-year comparison and does not give an overview of the main patterns. It also misreports the second-year figure as 400,000; the chart shows about 300,000. The fatalities data and all three survey results are omitted, so the task is addressed only very partially. The response is also 47 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to cover the information. To improve, write a complete report with a clear overview, accurate key figures, and comparisons across both graphs and the survey.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the first sentences introduce the visuals, followed by a move towards describing the fines graph. This gives the reader some indication of the intended structure. However, the report ends abruptly in the middle of a sentence (“3rd year”), so there is no completed progression or conclusion. The ideas are not developed into clear paragraphs, and the link between the graphs and the survey is not established. Use separate paragraphs for an overview, the graph trends, and the survey findings, and connect comparisons with simple, accurate transitions such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fined,” “speed cameras,” “survey,” and “number of people,” so the general subject is understandable. There are also attempts to vary expression, such as “drivers were fined” and “people being killed.” However, the range is limited, and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce precision: “manay,” “over speeding,” “indivisuals,” and “thoughts of the people.” Some phrases are also awkward, particularly “how placing these speed cameras have impacted.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and a wider set of chart-reporting terms, such as “the number rose,” “fatalities fluctuated,” and “respondents believed.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes both simple statements and an attempt at a longer sentence, for example, “The graph illustrates how … and how …,” showing some effort to use more than one structure. However, control is inconsistent. In “Both these analysis are based on 8 years period,” the demonstrative, noun number, and article are not correctly formed. “Even though speed camera were installed” also has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “the number of fines have increased” does not agree in number. The final sentence is unfinished, which makes the comparison difficult to follow. Practise checking agreement, articles, and complete sentence boundaries, and use a few controlled complex sentences rather than leaving structures incomplete.
