Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the line graph and all three survey questions, and your overview correctly identifies the main contrast: fines rose substantially while fatalities stayed broadly stable. You also report the survey’s key majorities, including 60% who said cameras did not reduce accidents and 71% who believed revenue was the main reason for installation. Some details, however, are inaccurate or unclear. Fines rose from about 200,000 to 1,600,000, not 2,000,000, and “almost 80%” is not supported by the 60% figure. The fatalities fluctuated rather than remaining at exactly the same pace. The report would be stronger with more precise comparisons and a clearer account of the graph’s changes, especially the sharp rise in fines in the final years.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening, an overview, a paragraph on the graphs and a final paragraph on the survey. This helps the reader identify the two main information sources. However, progression within sentences and between ideas is sometimes awkward. For example, “Almost 80% ... While 32%...” gives a misleading contrast, and “Even 71%” does not clearly connect the next survey result. The final sentence, “Left behinds Didn't know,” is incomplete and leaves the last figure unexplained; it should state that 8% did not know. Use linking words selectively and make each paragraph develop its information in a clear sequence, rather than relying on fragments or loosely connected statements.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “road accident fatalities,” “reduce,” “raise revenue” and “improve road safety,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range and control of phrasing are limited, and several choices are unnatural or imprecise. “Consistent causing death” does not clearly describe fatalities, while “without any depreciation” is not an appropriate way to describe a rising figure. “Fine imposed via the speed camera” is also awkward, and “Left behinds” is not a natural expression for the remaining survey response. Aim for standard chart-report language and accurate collocations, such as “the number of fines increased” and “fatalities fluctuated within a narrow range.” Check word forms and spelling as well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including contrasts introduced by “while” and “in contrast,” but grammatical control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence construction and agreement appear in phrases such as “Overall progressively eight years the penalty charged by had been increasing” and “More than 50% ... thinks.” Articles and prepositions are also often missing or misplaced, as in “reduce number of collisions” and “in first.” Some punctuation and spacing problems make sentence boundaries unclear, and “Left behinds Didn't know” is not a complete sentence. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. For example: “The number of fines rose from 200,000 in year one to 1.6 million in year eight, whereas fatalities fluctuated around 3,000.”
