Student answer (Band 6.0)

In various parts of the world people are becoming rich and famous by implementing an attitude that anyone can do anything. For instance, in music, literature, art, etc. However, people with legit abilities not recognised and appreciated. Personally, I partially agree with this statement because I believe that it does not actual matter of recognising or fortune.

On the one hand, social media plays a crucial role in this modern world. As recently, many of the famous people started their journey through online platforms like Youtube and Instagram. After many years of hustle they become famous. The primary reason of their success could be their knowledge of their content as well as targeted audience. Furthermore, many talented artists are not able to perform in future because of their financial status. As Musician required a professional instrument to play as a professional.

Nevertheless, this could a case but not always. Many people are getting fame by the disgusting activities they do on social media regardless of any talent. On the contrary there are various celeb face who comes from very poor families and they achieved their desire goals by their talent. For instance, Ajit Singh is a most awarded singer from India. In one podcast he told about his starting years of career where he used to sleep on streetways.

In summary, I would concede that working of desires with legit passion can help to achieve anything in future. Overall, I am convinced that In many circumstances talents does not impact on the achievement of the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the 'anyone can do it' attitude in the arts. However, the position is not consistently clear. While you state you 'partially agree', the arguments provided are somewhat contradictory and lack depth. For instance, you mention that social media allows people to succeed through hard work, but then shift to discussing 'disgusting activities' without fully connecting this to the core argument of whether genuine talent is being devalued. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that directly supports your thesis. The conclusion is also slightly confusing, as it contradicts the earlier points made about talent.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Nevertheless, this could a case but not always' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Transitions between ideas are sometimes abrupt, making the progression of arguments feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is often repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'legit abilities' and 'disgusting activities' are informal and imprecise for an academic essay. You rely on basic descriptors such as 'famous' and 'good' rather than more nuanced academic vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to the arts and professional success. Additionally, avoid slang or overly casual phrasing to maintain a formal tone suitable for an IELTS Academic Task 2 response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Musician required', 'talents does not impact') and sentence structure ('this could a case'). While you attempt some complex sentences, they often contain errors that can cause the reader to pause. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction—ensuring subjects and verbs agree—before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles ('the') and incorrect verb tenses will significantly improve your score.
