Student answer (Band 5.5)
Art is the courage of people to do something they like in their own Field. Every people have their own talent like some are engaged in music, dancing, acting, painting, and literature and many more. Art is the only one way of platform to show the hidden talent of people.
I don't agree with the statement that showing their talents, arts is not valued or appreciated. Today we all living in 21st century which is all about showing the talents through different platforms like through the use of different technologies, ideas and skills. Every person have their own interests in different sector. To be clear i will give some examples ,
John chamling rai he is the one of the famous singer and guitarist of Nepal. He has composed many different songs which we all listen and love it. Few years ago he is not that much famous, no-one knows about him one day he got the opportunity to perform in the college program and he sang a song and everyone likes it in the program. Through that his one performance he got the many different opportunities to compose different song and sing his original written song. Now he became so famous that everyone knows about him very well. So , showing talent doesn't depend on the countries or it doesn't matter whether he/she is rich or famous. Instead of hiding it we should encourage every people to show their talents and perform it and build their career in interested filed. Everyone will appreciate and valued it. If we are engaged in our interested arts field we can earn money too for our better livelihood it doesn't matter whether you are rich or poor. Just believe in showing talent.
So it's the wrong acception that people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that 'anyone can do it' in the arts. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal example of a singer from Nepal, the argument remains quite narrow and lacks a broader discussion of the societal implications mentioned in the prompt, such as the devaluation of genuine talent. The essay tends to over-generalize by suggesting that all talent is inherently valued, without fully engaging with the counter-argument that commercialization might sometimes overshadow artistic merit. To improve, ensure you explore the complexities of the topic more thoroughly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often basic or mechanical (e.g., 'To be clear', 'So'). The transition between the introduction and the body paragraph is abrupt. While the central idea is identifiable, the flow of information could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs needs more careful planning to ensure each sentence builds logically upon the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'showing their talents' and 'engaged in'. There are also some non-standard collocations and word choices, such as 'wrong acception' (misconception) and 'interested filed' (field of interest). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or idiomatic language limits the score. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and improving your control over word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Every people have', 'Every person have'), article usage, and tense consistency (e.g., 'Few years ago he is not that much famous'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after commas and periods. While the meaning is usually conveyed, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
