Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, arts have become an integral part in the world. However, there is an notion that 'anyone can do it' in the arts, such as music, literature, acting, art, etc. Consequently, people without any talent in arts become wealthy and popular, and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated. I disagree with this viewpoint because people can get achivements in arts by those important factors like persistency, patience and efforts.
To commense with, the main reason of people without talent cannot become rich and famous is that arts need hardwork and consistency. In modern societies, competitions can decide to select appropriate winners among participates. However, arts compose pressure on people which can only handle those individuals who have an ambition of getting achivements. As a result, only talented people can get success in their life, and become wealthy and popular. For example, most successful people may come from poor background, such as udit narayan, k.k rehman and amitabh bachchan.
Furthermore, the attitude that 'anyone can do it' can improve individuals' confidence. To elaborate on this, our mind can absorb anything, if people are thing about positive things, such as goals, activities and career. In addition, think positive about anything can provide an energy to complete that task or goal. Therefore, people can make progress in the arts by build sustaible confidence.
To recapitulate, i disagree that people with no talent become rich and famous, because any arts like music, literature and acting need persistency and patience. In contrast, positive attitude can lead people to success, and they become wealthy and popular in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you argue that hard work is necessary for success, the connection between this and the 'anyone can do it' attitude is not fully explored. The examples provided (e.g., Udit Narayan) are relevant but could be better integrated to explain why these individuals succeeded despite the perceived ease of entry into the arts. The argument in the second body paragraph regarding 'confidence' feels slightly disconnected from the core issue of whether talent is being devalued. To improve, ensure each paragraph directly supports your central thesis with more nuanced reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commense with', 'Furthermore', and 'To recapitulate' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'To commense with' (should be 'To commence') and 'In contrast' in the conclusion, which does not logically follow the preceding sentence. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to avoid a repetitive structure. Overall, the progression of ideas is evident, but the use of cohesive devices needs to be more natural and precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices or minor errors, such as 'achivements' (achievements), 'persistency' (persistence), and 'sustaible' (sustainable). You rely on fairly common vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'arts compose pressure' or 'think positive about anything'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and ensure that words are used in their correct collocations. Expanding your range of synonyms and academic phrases would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'there is an notion' (a notion), 'the main reason of people... is that' (the main reason why... is that), and 'if people are thing about' (thinking about). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but subject-verb agreement and article usage need attention. The range of structures is sufficient to communicate your ideas, but the frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy.
