Student answer (Band 5.0)

In various nations, there is an attitude that "everyone can do it" in the arts - music, literature, acting and art etc. Hence, individual without talent become rich and famous and gansuine talent is not appriceated. I completely disagree with this view, the reasons will discussed further in paragraphs.

To begin with, The social media gives apportunity to ordinary people Also because their are severals online platform where anyone can display their work such as Instagram, tik Tok and Snapchat. Moreover, This can sometimes overshadow highly skilled artists who have smaller audience. for instance, a talented singer can upload original songs on youtube charmle by ownself without joining a big faculty and they attract thousands of people.

Furthermore, talent is still valued in the long term. since, genuine talent requires creativity, discipline and lots of practise with originality rather than fake personality. Additionally, Act is subjective, there is no single defincation of Art. Artistic talent. a style that con one person considers ordinary may innovative or meaningful to another. for example, abstract painting may look simple to some people, Nevertheless other can appriciate because of high creativity and deeper meaning.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 190 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a clear position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. For instance, the point about social media is introduced but not fully explored in relation to the prompt's core concern regarding the devaluation of genuine talent. The conclusion is entirely missing, which is a key component of a balanced essay. To improve, you must expand your supporting arguments with more detailed examples and ensure you provide a comprehensive conclusion that summarizes your main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by the brevity of the content. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'Furthermore', the transitions between ideas feel somewhat mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between social media and the overshadowing of skilled artists is not fully articulated. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a concluding paragraph disrupts the overall structure. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by well-linked supporting evidence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'gansuine' (genuine), 'appriceated' (appreciated), 'apportunity' (opportunity), 'charmle' (channel), and 'defincation' (definition). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'creativity' and 'subjective', but you need to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and less common lexical items to demonstrate a higher level of proficiency. Focus on proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'The social media gives apportunity' (article usage), 'because their are severals' (incorrect pronoun and pluralization), and 'Act is subjective' (should be 'Art'). Sentence punctuation is also inconsistent, with some fragments and run-on sentences. To improve, work on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Reviewing basic grammar rules and practicing sentence variety will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
