In some countries today, there is an attitude that 'anyone can do it' in the arts - music, literature, acting, art, etc. As a result, people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated.

Do you agree or disagree?

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Arts ,music ,literature ,acting ,arts etc are the some forms of the talent that require creativity. People have their different qualities and some are naturally talented.

Well in my thought if I say yes in many countries today it's going on .

The numbers of population with lot of talents of music arts and literature or other fields they have gotten less chance or opportunities then others people who have gotten famous .The population with lots of talent are still struggling behind to reach the play where already non talented people has reached .

Over the years ,this trend seems to be increasing in developed country .With the power it has become more easier to earn anything whether it's talent or famous .

If we move on undeveloped cities there the number of talents people is more then the development cities but if we compare the chance and opportunities the population of developed cities has got more .

So I totally agree with the statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 165 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While you state your position clearly at the end, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or evidence to support your claims. The essay reads more like a brief opinion piece than an academic essay. To improve, you must expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments and providing concrete examples of artists or trends to substantiate your views.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion in the traditional sense, and the paragraphing is ineffective, with most of the text contained in a single, poorly organized block. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'the' and 'and'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences do not flow logically from one to the next. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks for each main idea and employ a wider range of linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your thoughts.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'talents', 'famous', and 'opportunities' throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'reach the play' (likely meaning 'place') and 'undeveloped cities' (which is not the standard term for developing regions). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to the arts and society, and try to use more precise synonyms to avoid repeating the same words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the number of talents people is more'), article usage ('the developed country'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the complexity expected at higher bands. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures. To improve, you should practice using a variety of complex sentence forms, such as relative clauses and conditional sentences, while paying closer attention to basic grammar rules like pluralization and preposition usage.
