Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate about an attitude that people can perform any task. Some peole argue that individuals are working in industries with out talent instead of deserving candidates. I completely agree that nepotism and less demand create this massive issue.
Firstly, individuals who have strong relationship obtain preferrence. This means that they use their references to get opportunities in any industries, and suitable people for that position are often overlooked. For instances, in India, numerous film stars' children are offered leading role in major projects without even proper auditions. This is because they use their parents reference to get that role. As a result, an intelligent actor, who completed a relevant degree, remains unemployed.
Secondly, many people who deserve to perform any jobs are offered small roles and less payment. owing to this, they are mostly overlooked by large organisations. As a result, less individuals know them as they did not get a chance to present their talent. For example, a great singer in Pakistan once expressed in his interview, he did ten years struggle to reach this stage as multinational brands do not consider him to offer any projects. And this is happened due to lack of references because he was born in poor family. Hence, this struggle is much greater than other privileged stars.
To conclude, individuals with weak references are often not blessed with a huge amount money and leading role, however this happens due to favouritism. As a result, intellual people remain unpopular and poor.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position on the 'anyone can do it' attitude in the arts. You identify nepotism and lack of opportunity as the primary drivers of this issue. While the ideas are relevant, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on 'nepotism' in the Indian film industry is a good example, but the second paragraph regarding 'small roles' and 'less payment' feels slightly repetitive and could have been better linked to the core argument about talent being undervalued. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct aspect of the argument and provides more nuanced analysis rather than just describing the situation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear topic sentence. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'owing to this' or 'And this is happened'. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect ideas more naturally, rather than relying on standard list-like transitions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'nepotism', 'privileged', and 'multinational brands'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'weak references' (instead of 'lack of connections') and 'intellual people' (likely a spelling error for 'intellectual'). The range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simpler vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and academic vocabulary related to the arts and social structures to demonstrate a more sophisticated range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'people who deserve to perform any jobs' (awkward phrasing), 'And this is happened' (incorrect verb tense/passive voice), and 'huge amount money' (missing preposition). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors throughout. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you move into a higher band.
