Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, Arts are increasing in younger people. they are talking interest in music, literature, acting and art etc. Some people believe that person with zero talent become wealthy and famous, whereas real talent does not receive any appreciation. I totally agree with this statement, and will provide suitable justification in forthcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, many individuals think that, making a good career in music, art, acting, and literature is an easy task, whereas these field also demand high human creativity. To elaborate, number of social media accounts are increasing who are hyping person with zero talent and students who are burning midnight oil in universities or colleges are not getting recognized . To instance a well known Austria biologist Gregor Mendel was not recognized as first he published his work in 1900s. After social media came and other scientists hyped his work and he became popular.
Secondly, todays artists use autotune and artificial intelligence for become famous within younger generation. whether, pupil who are scoring high percentage or winning medals are not popular enough in their community. For example- there are many Indian singers, who use autotunes in their music for making it engaging. It overshadow real talent. Furthermore, referrals are becoming common which effects the real ones. money can also influence the popularity of artists. Famous people often earns a large amount of money through advertisement and social media.
To sum up, although social media has made it possible for people with limited artistic abilities to become rich and more famous, I do not believe that genuine talent has lost its value. popularity can be achieved quickly but lasting success in the arts, generally requires talent, creativity, skills, hardwork and ability to learn and improve day by day.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The example regarding Gregor Mendel is largely irrelevant to the topic of 'talent in the arts,' as he was a scientist, which weakens the argument. While the second paragraph touches on relevant points like autotune and the influence of money, the connection between these points and the broader argument about 'genuine talent' is somewhat superficial. The conclusion introduces a contradictory point—that genuine talent has not lost its value—which undermines the 'total agreement' stated in the introduction. To improve, ensure all examples directly support the specific focus on the arts and maintain a consistent stance throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'To sum up,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'whether, pupil who are scoring...' and 'To instance a well known...'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the flow between the mention of Indian singers and the broader point about referrals and money feels disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be strengthened by using more varied linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'talking interest' instead of 'taking an interest,' 'hyping person' instead of 'hyping people,' and 'effects the real ones' (confusing 'effect' with 'affect'). The range is sufficient to convey the main points, but the use of less common lexical items is limited and sometimes inaccurate. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing, such as the frequent use of 'famous' and 'talent'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Famous people often earns'), article usage ('a well known Austria biologist'), and incorrect verb forms ('for become famous'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and hyphens. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from being considered error-free. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
