Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but struggles with clarity and logical development. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and often confusing. For instance, the paragraph regarding 'social technology' fails to clearly link the impact of technology to the specific issue of 'anyone can do it' in the arts. The second body paragraph is also difficult to follow due to unclear phrasing about 'real masses' and 'artificial talent.' To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear idea that directly supports your stance, providing concrete examples that illustrate your point rather than using vague generalizations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear sentence structures and awkward transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'for instance' and 'to conclude,' their usage is sometimes mechanical or incorrectly placed. Referencing is often ambiguous, such as in the phrase 'this difficulty are setteled down,' where the antecedent is unclear. To reach a higher band, focus on using cohesive devices to create a smoother flow between sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often imprecise, which hinders the clarity of your arguments. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'masses with no talent,' 'advance mindsets,' and 'artificial talent.' Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'wavelentgh,' 'Employement,' and 'Envionrment.' To improve, try to use more precise terminology related to the arts and social trends. Expanding your vocabulary through reading academic articles and practicing collocations will help you express your ideas with greater sophistication and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this difficulty are setteled'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'become to rich'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. The range of structures is limited, and complex sentences are often attempted but contain errors that affect the overall readability. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect prepositions will also significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
