Student answer (Band 5.0)

Arts and culture have been integral parts of our society for decades. The likelihood of our social acts or arts to result in creativity to impact positively to the society maybe stratified into various areas of arts. This stratification includes music, literature, acting, comedy, dancing and other forms of talent exhibition. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 124 words. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to address the prompt fully. The position is stated, but there is no development of ideas, no supporting evidence, and no conclusion. The task is only partially addressed, and the lack of length severely limits the ability to demonstrate the required depth of argument. To improve, you must ensure you complete the essay structure with a clear introduction, at least two body paragraphs with specific examples, and a concluding summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its unfinished state. While there is an attempt to introduce the topic, the progression of ideas is halted abruptly. Cohesive devices are used in a limited way, such as 'hence' and 'this stratification', but the lack of a full body paragraph makes it impossible to assess the logical flow of arguments. Paragraphing is present but insufficient. To improve, focus on planning your essay structure before writing to ensure that each paragraph develops a single, clear idea connected to your main thesis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, with terms like 'integral parts', 'stratification', and 'content creation'. However, the range is limited by the brevity of the text. There are some awkward phrasings, such as 'impact positively to the society' (should be 'impact positively on society') and 'in our today world' (should be 'in today's world'). The vocabulary is sufficient for the limited content provided but does not demonstrate the range or precision required for higher bands. Expanding your writing will allow you to showcase a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and complex structures, but there are noticeable errors that affect clarity. For example, 'The likelihood of our social acts or arts to result in creativity to impact positively to the society maybe stratified' is overly complex and grammatically confusing. The use of 'maybe' as a single word is a spelling error (should be 'may be'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the grammatical control is inconsistent. To improve, focus on using simpler, more direct sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and word choice.
