Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today, many people have an attitude that 'anyone can do it ' in the arts like music, literature, acting, etc. As a result, people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated. I strongly agree with this statement because I have seen people with no actual talent get all the fame and money.
Whenever I open my social media, I always feel like education, jobs and all the hard-work do not matter in today's world as I see people with no actual talent becoming so famous and earning so much money. For example, in my latest social media feed, I am seeing a guy saying random things about motivation and education and becoming the most popular guy in the internet. There was no talent in this, but still he is earning good money as he became a popular person on the internet. The same way, I see random people with no talent becoming famous overnight and earning good money, which makes my question my hard-work and qualifications.
Whereas, there are people with actual talent and they would have invested so much time into learning an art and they try to showcase their talent on the internet but still they won't get the recognition and appreciation that they deserve. I see many music artists who have a very good talent and have worked hard to learn that skill and are also good at what they do, but still they won't get the likes and fame that they deserve.
The one reason I would disagree with the statement is I personally feel that if you worked really hard, you will be rewarded in one way or another. I have seen people trying really hard and pursuing a talent, but there were no results in the beginning. After a few years, they also would get the fame and money doing the same thing as they put in enough time for that skill. But this is not true for everyone and the time it will take for every individual is different and not fixed.
In conclusion, I will agree strongly with the statement but there are exception. Majority of the cases, 'anyone can do it' holds true.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout, although the argument is somewhat contradictory. You state you 'strongly agree' but then dedicate a paragraph to a counter-argument, which weakens the overall impact of your stance. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the lack of recognition for skilled artists, but they could be developed with more depth rather than relying on repetitive examples of 'random people'. To improve, ensure your position is consistent and that your supporting examples are more specific and analytical rather than anecdotal.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Whenever', 'Whereas', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, the connection between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the agreement and the counter-argument is abrupt. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'The same way', which lacks a strong link to the preceding sentence. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between paragraphs would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrases like 'no actual talent', 'earning good money', and 'famous'. While these communicate your meaning clearly, they do not demonstrate a sophisticated grasp of the topic. There is an attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but it is limited. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations related to the arts, media, and professional recognition to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'makes my question my hard-work' (should be 'makes me question') and 'the most popular guy in the internet' (should be 'on the internet'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will help improve your accuracy.
