Student answer (Band 5.0)

In an contemporary world, everyone want to become rich and famous without any talent and effort. In this regard, it is argued by some people nowadys a wide range of countries, there is an attitude that anyone can do it in the arts, music, literature, acting, art etc. As a result people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated. From my perspective, I believe that about this opinion people with no talent become rich and famous just because of money.

First of all, In some countries people want to become famous and rich just because of their talent. they have talent in many things like they can do in the arts - music, literature, acting, art, etc. They make efforts over night because they fulfil their dreams. In other words, in some countries genuine talent is not valued or appreciated. for instance, it is commonly observed that in pakistan genuine talent is not valued, in this case people want to move abroad and other cities to show their talent and become famous, effort for financialy stable.

Secondly, those people who are already famous they dont valued or appreciated a real talent in the art music literature acting etc. some people expert in acting but they dont do it because their family strictness. they dont show their talent in socail media and any other platform. while some other people expert in music they have guitar and show their talent in school but not in social media. As a result real talent is not showed by the publically and their dream to become rich and famous is broken. for instance, many young people intrested in teaching, literature but they dont do it because they are not allowed in their family.

In conculision, it can be summarized that people with no talent become rich and famous just because of money. parents encouraged their childrens to improve their talent and showed in publically with follow rules and instructions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks a clear, consistent position. While you acknowledge the 'anyone can do it' attitude, the arguments are often contradictory or unclear. For instance, in the second paragraph, you argue that people become famous through talent, which contradicts the prompt's premise that talent is ignored. The ideas are under-developed and lack logical support. To improve, ensure your main arguments directly support your thesis statement and provide specific, relevant examples that clearly illustrate your point rather than making broad, confusing generalizations about societal trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions are often mechanical or misused, such as 'In this regard' or 'In other words,' which do not accurately link the ideas. Referencing is frequently unclear; for example, it is difficult to follow who 'they' refers to in the second paragraph. The flow of ideas within paragraphs is disjointed, making it challenging for the reader to follow your argument. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic words like 'famous,' 'rich,' and 'talent.' There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'family strictness' instead of 'strict family upbringing' and 'showed in publically' instead of 'displayed publicly.' Some phrases are used incorrectly, which occasionally impedes the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary and learning common collocations related to the arts and social issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone want,' 'parents encouraged their childrens'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors that affect readability. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and tense consistency before submitting your work.
