In some countries today, there is an attitude that 'anyone can do it' in the arts - music, literature, acting, art, etc. As a result, people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated.
Do you agree or disagree?
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes, I do agree with this statement. i believe there is nothing easy nor difficult. Its always your behaviour that makes it easy or hard. In some countries it is usually said and sadly I am the part of that country also, where talent is not appreciated and it is examined by the lens of the nobility.
In my country Doctors and Engineers are being set the benchmarks of talented professionals and every degree is that anybody can do it. But i encourage this thing in my life that you know your struggles let other people talk about you because action speaks louder than words.
This is the delimma of our society that talented people are not appreciated, they are always discouraged. That's why people moving to abroad because they encourage talent.
If I talk about my surrounding, companies are not hiring people based on their talents but based on reference. Music and art is given religious aspect. People enrolled in literature are said that they are not that capable that's why they chose this degree. Talented people are unemployed even with engineering and medical degrees.
In my opinion, when the system is corrupted than usually the talent of those countries are not valued. they value people with same mindsets not with different mindsets or ones hoping to bring positivity in society through their music, art , literature, acting etc. i wish and believe that talents should be respected and being encouraged to make a positive impact on society and in lives of others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that talent is undervalued in your country due to corruption and nepotism, the arguments remain somewhat anecdotal and lack the depth required for a higher band. The connection between the 'anyone can do it' attitude in the arts and the broader societal issues you describe is not fully explored. To improve, ensure that each paragraph directly supports your central thesis with more detailed reasoning and specific examples rather than general statements about societal corruption.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression between ideas is often disjointed. Transitions are either missing or used in a repetitive, mechanical way (e.g., 'In my country', 'In my opinion'). The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between 'Doctors and Engineers' and the 'anyone can do it' attitude is not explicitly explained. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in contrast' would help improve the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and range expected for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing and some informal expressions (e.g., 'I am the part of that country', 'encourage this thing'). There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'delimma' (dilemma) and 'moving to abroad' (moving abroad). To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the arts and professional meritocracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Doctors and Engineers are being set the benchmarks'), incorrect tense usage, and punctuation errors. For instance, 'when the system is corrupted than usually the talent... are not valued' contains multiple errors in structure and comparison. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb forms will significantly improve your score.
