Student answer (Band 4.5)

Today i would like to talk about talent.

What anyone can do arts, music, literature, acts etc.As a result people become rich and popular and talent is not valued or appreciated.

This is 100 persent reality of this generation in every country they take care of his talent and appreciate them. But in some country like Pakistan and India in this country there is no respect of real talent.Only rich people participate in every things like acts, music, literature and government jobs and every thing.Rich people gave money for his work and poor people has rejected because poor people have no money.

Now a day they not appreciate the talented people they ruin their talent because some people who have much money they gave money and take everythings. But in reality they dont have any talent they cant do anything and with the help of money they ruined the poor person and their talent. And poor person also ruined their talent because of rich person.

Because talent has no value only money can make everything in some countries but this is very bad and talented person and also for country.Because which country respected their talent and give chance to their talent so they make proud for their country. In this country the government dont take money do not greedy and gave respect most of talented person instead of rich person and they dont ruined their talent. They take care of their talent and give respect and show in front of everyone and at the end the poor person show his talent and make name and proud of his own talent and own government

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether anyone can succeed in the arts and whether genuine talent is unvalued due to wealth, expressing a clear personal viewpoint. However, the response touches on this theme only partially and lacks the depth and sophisticated argumentation expected for higher bands. The ideas are repetitive, overly general, and heavily reliant on a specific socio-economic complaint regarding Pakistan and India rather than exploring the broader philosophical or cultural prompt about the arts. Phrases like 'in reality they dont have any talent they cant do anything and with the help of money they ruined the poor person' demonstrate an underdeveloped argument. It meets the minimum length requirement, but the progression and depth of ideas place it firmly in Band 4.5 to 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The organisational structure of the essay is severely impaired. The student uses very short, fragmented paragraphs—some consisting of single sentences—which fails to establish logical progression or paragraph unity. Cohesive devices are either missing or repetitive and inaccurate, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Because' or 'And poor person'. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to follow the flow of arguments, as seen in 'In this country the government dont take money do not greedy and gave respect'. There is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the text. These issues reflect Band 4.0 characteristics under Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'money', 'talent', 'rich', 'poor', 'ruined', and 'respect'. There is a lack of less common lexical items, and the student struggles with word choice and collocation, such as 'rich people gave money for his work and poor people has rejected' and 'make name and proud of his own talent'. Spelling and word-form errors are frequent throughout the response, including lowercase 'i', 'persent', 'every things', and 'dont'. While the meaning is occasionally communicated, the narrow range and persistent inaccuracies place this performance at Band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and heavily flawed complex or compound sentences. There are constant errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement ('poor people has rejected'), tense consistency ('they not appreciate', 'they gave money and take everythings'), and article usage. Punctuation is largely absent or misused, with run-on sentences and fragmented structures dominating the text. Because errors are frequent, systemic, and frequently cause strain or confusion for the reader, the grammar aligns with Band 4.0.
