You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has been observed that, genuine talent in the art industry is not get an enough appreciation and recognisation. Although in some nations today, there is some different attitude of people who said that 'anyone can do it' such as music, literature, theatre and etc. as a consequence people who do not developed skills and do not put any hard works in such activities become more famous, rich and genuine talent valued and appreciated.

The foremost arguement to justify my stand is that in recent age and years each and every person share there videos on social media and become famous by small editing of the video and getting fam and earn money. This means that, nowadays individuals do not have time to show a proper talent thus they prefer to watch some small reels or short videos to entertain themselves and they believe that it is a real talent but they do not have idea that it is just one video which is uploaded after editings. For example, in India young people scrolling through social media while travellig or doing some works, and small content provide them instant relaxation, due to this people who are genuinely talented and share their talent without any filters do not get much appreciations.

Furthermore, the other reason to prove my point is the reality shows and nepotism in the artistic industry are becoming more popular in the public. In the other words, there are lots of reality shows on the Tv or online platforms which provide raw entertainment to people and some unique content such as fights and controversies between celebrities, secondly nepotism in this industry are increasing and people get works by references not by showing the talent.

To conclude the discussion, my reasons why i agree that people prefer to watch polished and small contents which provides them instant peace and entertain them , another is reality shows have more popularity and nepo children get works easily eventhough they do not have enough talent and knowledge about the literature, music, acting and art.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position of agreement regarding the devaluation of genuine talent in modern society due to quick entertainment, social media, and nepotism. The ideas presented are generally relevant, discussing how social media filters and quick video formats overshadow authentic artistry, alongside the influence of reality television and nepotism. However, some arguments remain slightly under-developed and tend to over-generalise, such as the claim that people simply prefer small reels over real talent without deeper analysis. Examples are provided, particularly regarding young people in India scrolling through social media, but they could be elaborated further to reach a higher band level. Overall, the response fulfills the main requirements of the task with a coherent stance throughout, aligning well with a Band 6.0 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, two body paragraphs, and the conclusion appropriately. Logical connectors and cohesive devices are employed, such as 'The foremost arguement', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude the discussion', which help guide the reader through the structure of the essay. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'In the other words' and run-on sentence structures in the conclusion. Paragraph transitions are visible, but the internal flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors and overly long sentences containing multiple ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'nepotism', 'controversies', and 'recognisation'. However, there are frequent noticeable errors in word formation, spelling, and collocation, such as 'is not get an enough appreciation', 'recognisation', 'arguement', and 'fam' instead of 'fame'. The use of phrases like 'nepo children' is slightly informal for an academic essay. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general message, these persistent lexical inaccuracies and word-choice errors prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and subordinate structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the text, featuring frequent errors such as tense and voice mismatches ('genuine talent in the art industry is not get an enough appreciation'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('do not developed skills'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also problematic, particularly in the lengthy final sentence of the conclusion which lacks proper segmentation. While communication is rarely completely impeded, the high frequency of grammatical slips places this response firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
