Student answer (Band 5.5)
At present, in many counties there is an assumption that anyone can be successful in the melodies, literature, acting and arts. Consequently, less talented individuals become wealthy and famous and genuinly talented people might get ignored and unappreciated. However, I strongly agree with the opinion that these days less talented people may have a significant chance to becoming rich and succeed. One of the main reason why I agree with this view is that people these days become more famous through social media and online advertisment, although they do not have much artistic talent. The main reason is that young people made them their influencer and follow their trends. For instance, there are numerous reels trends on the instagram that young individual follows, although the instagramers do not put any encouraging message on that video. As a result, they got more famous than people who are really talented. Another point of my agreement is that people who have family connections as well as financial resources can get into the entertainment industry quit easily. The main reason is that people these days want to get famous and financial stable as early as possible without putting genuin efforts. For example, actors with less acting skills would appear as a leading role actor in drama industry, infact they might not have high talent. Furthermore, they become more financial stable and known person that those have genuine acting skills. In conclusion, although I am strongly convinced with the fact that these days less talented people can have a high chance of becoming financialy strong and popular as social medial, online advertisments as well as family connections might help less artistic people to get more finanically strong and popular than people who particularly have much talents.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position agreeing with the prompt that less talented people have a significant chance of becoming rich and successful in the arts today. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as social media influencers and family connections in the entertainment industry. However, the position statement in the introduction slightly misinterprets the exact wording of the prompt, agreeing with the idea that 'less talented people may have a significant chance to becoming rich and succeed' rather than directly answering whether genuine talent is unvalued. While the arguments are generally well-developed, some minor over-generalizations occur in the body paragraphs. Overall, the response fulfills the task requirements reasonably well, aligning with Band 6.5 to Band 7.0 descriptors, specifically meriting a Band 6.5 due to minor lapses in addressing the full nuance of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into a clear introduction, two body paragraphs supporting the main argument, and a conclusion, demonstrating an overall coherent structure. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as social media trends versus family connections. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, as seen in the frequent use of phrases like 'The main reason is that' and 'As a result'. Additionally, referencing can be slightly unclear, as in the conclusion where the sentence structure becomes overly convoluted and dense, making the logical progression falter slightly towards the end. These features place the response firmly in the Band 6 category, as there is a coherent overall arrangement accompanied by some faulty or repetitive cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'entertainment industry', 'financial resources', and 'influencer'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'counties' instead of 'countries', 'genuinly' instead of 'genuinely', 'advertisment', 'instagramers', 'quit easily' instead of 'quite easily', 'financial stable', and 'genuin efforts'. The term 'melodies' is also inappropriately used in place of 'music'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the score from reaching a higher band. The lexical resource displayed matches the criteria for Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and concessive clauses (e.g., 'In conclusion, although I am strongly convinced...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'chance to becoming' instead of 'chance of becoming', 'people these days become more famous' (tense inconsistency), 'young individual follows' (subject-verb agreement), 'on the instagram', and 'those have genuine acting skills' instead of 'those who have genuine acting skills'. Punctuation is also occasionally strained in longer, run-on sentences, particularly in the concluding paragraph. Because errors persist and can occasionally cause minor difficulty for the reader, the grammar performance aligns with Band 5.5.
