Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is an ongoing debate about attitude that anyone can do it in the arts like, music, literature, acting ,art, etc.resultantly, people with no talent become rich and famous and geniune talent is not appreciated. Although, this is a widespread belief but i believe that art is only performed by those who are geninly talented and everyone is not able to perform these activities effectively.

In my opinion, the art-music, literature, acting, etc are skilled qualities in human beings. These skills are cognitively designed among humans and also differ accordingly. For instance, some people can sing and other cannot. Resultantly, the pure talent get chance to perform on exhibition level leading them towards the famous and wealthy grounds.

On the other, hand a significant class of people follow the notion that the art is unevenly regarded. They strongly believe on the rule of Might is Right, which is not actually followed in humams.

In a nutshell, natural division of human beings assure that art is not done by all the people equally and varry according to distinctive characteristics among human beings. Therefore, it is clear that art belongs to people who are acctually talented and skilled.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task by stating a clear position that genuine talent exists and is required in the arts, but the development of ideas is limited due to the under-length response. The student's answer contains 196 words, which fails to meet the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the arguments are underdeveloped, particularly in the second and third body paragraphs where terms like 'Might is Right' are introduced without clear explanation or direct support related to the prompt. To achieve a higher band score, the candidate must expand their arguments with more detailed explanations and specific examples, ensuring the full word count is met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some basic organization with paragraph breaks and introductory and concluding remarks, but the overall progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as starting the second body paragraph with 'In my opinion, the art-music...' and using 'Resultantly' and 'On the other, hand' incorrectly. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, which disrupts the flow of the argument. Improving logical connectors and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences and paragraphs would significantly enhance coherence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with several lexical errors and awkward collocations. Examples include 'geniune' (spelling error), 'geninly', 'acctually', and phrases like 'famous and wealthy grounds' and 'skilled qualities in human beings'. While there are attempts to use less common words such as 'cognitively' and 'distinctive characteristics', they are often used incorrectly or inappropriately in context. Spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable throughout the text, though they rarely impede general communication. A wider range of precise vocabulary and greater attention to word formation and spelling are required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at complex forms often result in grammatical errors. Examples of errors include 'about attitude that', 'everyone is not able' (rather than 'not everyone is able'), 'the pure talent get chance', and 'varry according'. Punctuation is also problematic in places, such as missing commas or unnecessary spacing around punctuation marks. While the core meaning is generally recoverable despite the frequent errors, the lack of secure grammatical control prevents the response from reaching a higher band score. The candidate needs to focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and accurate sentence construction.
