Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, there is an attitude that 'anyone can do it' in the arts. Therefore, people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued. I agree with this view because of social media influence and technological advancement.
A particularly noteworthy reason why individuals with no talent become rich and famous is its potential to use social media to gain fame. This can largely be attributed to the fact that most people can access the internet, thereby enabling them to follow social media content with ease. In practical terms, people without talent can use AI to edit their information, and posting it on common social media platforms such as Facebook. As a result, viewers may like their content, which may in turn make them more popular than to those with real talent. When they gain fame, they can sell their artwork, which allows them to earn money, eventually making them rich. In the long run, individuals with genuine talent are not appreciated.
Another compelling argument in favor of the view that people feel anyone can do art is because of recent advancements in technology, which enables people with computer skills to create good content. This is particularly significant because they only require computer skills, despite being untalented. As a consequence, individuals with real talent compete with AI in art-creation, which makes it hard for them to prosper. Therefore, people develop an attitude that anyone can make it in art.
To conclude, I agree that people have an attitude that 'anyone can do it' in arts because of technological advancement. As a result, individuals with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued due to social media influence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating a position in the introduction and conclusion. The arguments presented focus on social media influence and technological advancements such as AI. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and could be extended further with deeper real-world examples or greater elaboration. For instance, the discussion on AI competing with genuine artists touches on a valid point, but it remains a bit general. The response covers the prompt adequately, achieving a clear overarching stance, which aligns well with the requirements for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to connect sentences, such as 'A particularly noteworthy reason', 'Another compelling argument', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and referencing links are occasionally mechanical or slightly repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on formulaic transitional phrases. Overall progression is clear, making the text easy to follow throughout, fitting the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'contemporary society', 'technological advancement', and 'genuine talent'. However, there are some imprecise word choices and awkward collocations, such as 'potential to use social media to gain fame' and 'edit their information'. Spelling is generally accurate, and vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main arguments without impeding communication, placing the response comfortably at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and subordinate clauses effectively (e.g., 'which enables people with computer skills to create good content'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('make them more popular than to those with real talent') and awkward preposition usage. However, these errors rarely impede communication and the basic meaning remains clear, reflecting the criteria for Band 6.0.
