Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes, i agree with this statament, because in some countries there is an attitude that anyone can do anything in the arts, music industry, anting etc. It's mean that people have not any talent and they are become rich and famous in many fields. They have no idea , they don't know about the work and they just act on the social media and then just become famous and rich. For example, in my county nowadays many social media apps are famous and tranding around the people.People are using it for intertainment some of the people have not talent and they are using it for uploading their videos. They create an account on it any uploading their acting videos, dance videos, singing videos, litterely they have not talent their voices are not perfect or stunning for the singing but they are continuesly uploading the videos on that platforms and getting more and more followers and become famous and rich from these apps, ther other side people who's have the talent they are hard working and work more on these apps but not appreciated from the people and not getting followers on their accounts. Nowadays people just use the created or tranding formullas for creating their videos just become famouse, people who's have real talent they working on and shows them talent but people just watching the tranding not the talented videos , that's why talented people are not valued of appreciated from watchers and fake and content copy makers are just become famous and rich.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating agreement with the given statement regarding the arts and untrained individuals gaining fame. The writer attempts to support this position with examples related to social media platforms, stating that people upload content without genuine talent and still achieve wealth. However, the ideas are repetitive and underdeveloped. The argument remains somewhat generalised, relying heavily on a single extended example of social media apps rather than exploring multiple facets of the arts as mentioned in the prompt, such as literature, music, or acting more broadly. Consequently, the development lacks depth, aligning best with a band 5.0 level of task response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text suffers from a lack of proper paragraphing, as the entire response is written as one single, dense block of text, which significantly hinders readability and logical flow. While there are basic cohesive devices used, such as 'For example', 'and', 'then', and 'that's why', their application is often repetitive and mechanical. The progression of ideas is disjointed because sentences run together without clear conceptual breaks or paragraph transitions. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun use like 'they' and 'it'. Overall, the lack of paragraph structure and repetitive mechanical cohesion place this response firmly in the band 5.0 range.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and repetitive throughout the essay. The writer frequently reuses basic vocabulary items such as 'famous', 'rich', 'talent', 'people', and 'videos' multiple times within single sentences. There are noticeable word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'statament' for statement, 'anting' for acting, 'intertainment' for entertainment, 'litterely' for literally, 'continuesly' for continuously, 'formullas' for formulas, and 'famouse' for famous. While the meaning can generally be understood, these frequent errors and the lack of a varied, precise vocabulary restrict the score to a band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the overall adequacy of the communicative attempt.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing relies heavily on simple sentences and overly long, run-on structures joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'then'. There is a lack of control over complex sentence forms, and punctuation is weak, largely consisting of comma splices and missing full stops. Frequent grammatical errors occur, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people who's have', 'people who's have real talent they working on'), tense inconsistencies, and incorrect auxiliary verb usage ('they have not any talent', 'they are become rich'). These frequent errors frequently strain the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band, placing it at a band 4.5, awarded as 5.0.
