Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern digital era, access to content creation is a belief that anyone can achieve success in artistic fields. While it is true that social media platform allows individual with traditional skills to gain rapid fame. I largely disagree with the genuine talent is no longer valued.

It cannot be denied that social media lowered the entry barriers to cultural industries. Occasionally elevating untalanted figures to celebrity status , social media platforms often values easily digestible, sensation content. As a consequence internet personalities and social media influencers renown simply by putting low efforts by just following simple growing trends that gets viral easily and gain many followers just by doing some cringe things on internet. In comparision to the industrial artist they gets hard and slow success with more struggle that of internet personalities the authentic places award shows where they reach after years of struggle and hardwork which shows the cinematography and fine arts.

Furthermore, the digital tools also give public appreciation for authentic skills. Platforms like youtube and spotify allow artist to be independent whoever overlooked by the publishing house and music company can make their independent songs and release on these platforms and gain their listeners who values it.

In conclusion, although the modern media enables some untalented individuals to attain wealth and fame but this doesn't

mean that real artistic talent lost its worth. Genuine talent will nevel be unseen and always be highly appreciated other that any fields the arts is valued its own way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance that genuine talent is still valued despite the rise of social media. The writer attempts to cover both sides by acknowledging that digital platforms can elevate untalented figures through sensational content, while also arguing that authentic skills receive public appreciation and that traditional awards still recognise hard work. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in the second paragraph where the argument becomes slightly repetitive and lacks deeper examples. This places the response comfortably in Band 6, as all parts of the task are addressed, but the development remains basic.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate main ideas, such as the critique of social media in the second paragraph and the benefits of digital tools in the third. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Phrases like 'In comparision to the industrial artist they gets hard and slow success' show awkward referencing and a lack of smooth transitions between sentences. Additionally, run-on sentences and punctuation issues disrupt the logical flow. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate for a Band 6 score.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to use less common items such as 'cultural industries', 'sensational content', and 'independent songs'. However, there are notable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'untalanted figures', 'sensation content', 'values easily digestible', and 'whoever overlooked'. Spelling errors like 'comparision' and 'nevel' also occur. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the writer's meaning, the frequency of lexical inaccuracies prevents the response from reaching a higher band, making Band 5.5 appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure, such as 'social media platform allows individual', 'they gets hard and slow success', and 'the authentic places award shows where they reach'. Furthermore, fragment sentences like 'In the modern digital era, access to content creation is a belief that anyone can achieve success in artistic fields' distort the intended meaning. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the grammar aligns with Band 5.0.
