Student answer (Band 5.5)

Recently mindset of young generation is being developed In many countries that art can be performed by anyone because it does not requires special skills.it could be in the form of music, litrature or acting. Therefore, the people who are working in the field of art become wealthy and famous while deserving individuals are being left out without any appreciation. In this essay I will point out the reasons of why I am not agree with this statement. As art is a significant skill which needs well qualified people who can focus on details and can see what a common man can not.

In today's world, the use of social media has influenced the perspectives of communities. especially nowadays reels showing fake performances of artists putting few colors on a desk and observers around them claping which creates a perception that there is no special methodology involved in arts and everyone can do it.Although it looks like that, which is not the case in real. For instance, one of my colleagues showing me a video on facebook of how micheal jackson used multiple tools and methods and modified his shoes when he was performing some steps of his dance and they were not real. However he did not knew how the content creator has used fake graphs and was trying to discredit micheal.

Art is among the best careers people choose to opt but it does not mean it is easier than other fields, In contrast it is one of the difficult in all the fields. Artists are the most curious people who notice everything, the creates and makes art that are almost near to perfect. Actor just does not perform a script he give it feelings, emotions and make sure the audience get a lesson from it, which is very hard to alter someone idea through simple speaking. for example, an actor in a theatre discussing social issues in a way that no one can even imagine and suggesting solutions to the issues as well.

In conlusion, art is not that easy what people think of it, it needs focusing conciously. whereas, the media that shows fabricated videos are not truly represents what an artist is.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear stance against the idea that art requires no special skills. The writer attempts to extend and support ideas, stating that art is a significant skill needing well-qualified individuals. However, the development of ideas suffers from a lack of clear coherence in examples, such as the anecdote about the colleague and Michael Jackson, which feels slightly confused and difficult to follow. Furthermore, the position is sometimes obscured by weak expression. Overall, the ideas presented meet the requirements of Band 6, as the task is addressed with a relevant overall stance, though some supporting arguments are under-developed or lack logical clarity in their execution.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and is divided into appropriate paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. There are issues with referencing and linking sentences, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('it could be', 'For instance, one of my colleagues showing me...') and abrupt transitions between ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or misused, and the progression of ideas within the second body paragraph is hindered by confusing sentence structures. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion requires better management. These features place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'perspective', 'methodology', 'fabricated', and 'conciously'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'litrature', 'claping', 'knew' instead of 'know', 'conlusion', and grammatical collocation errors like 'not agree' instead of 'disagree'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they detract from precision and indicate limited control over spelling and word formation. The lexical range is sufficient to convey basic meaning, but inaccuracies prevent the score from reaching a higher band, making Band 5.5 appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. Frequent errors are present, including capitalization mistakes (starting sentences with lowercase letters), missing auxiliary verbs ('it does not requires'), subject-verb agreement issues ('the creates and makes art'), and awkward clause structures ('whereas, the media that shows fabricated videos are not truly represents what an artist is'). Punctuation is also weak, with run-on sentences and comma splices. While the meaning can generally be deciphered, the frequency of grammatical and punctuation errors causes difficulty for the reader at times, aligning the grammar with a Band 5.0 descriptor.
