Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, it is a continuous trend many people from all over teh world persue arts subject like music, literature , acting , art to earn some money and to become successful, rather than as their personal choice of interest. Due to which the individuals who are really talented in this particular field are not valued and appreciated. I fully agree with this statement and the reason for this will be explained in further paragraph with relevant examples.

The main reason the talented people are not valued is because of a myth, that goes like any person can do arts as it is relatively easiest thing to do if any person want to ignore education and it is also a easiest way to earn huge amount of money in less time. For example: famous dancer charge very high amount of money to come at any kind of event, even tough their age is very less, they earn a really big amount of money so due to this most people thinks its a that kind of job were people any money without any hardwork or dedication.

Furthermore, the reason peoples with genuine talent is not valued or apprecited is due to nepotism and bribery as sometime the judges who has been brought by someone by paying a huge amount of money doesn’t give marks to people according to their talents, which results into total wastage of someone who has a good amount of talent.

In conclusion, individuals with real talent and hardwork should be valued instead of some nepotism’s.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and takes a clear position ("I fully agree with this statement"). The main ideas—that art is seen as an easy way to make money and that nepotism devalues genuine talent—are relevant to the task. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the example provided about a famous dancer charging a high amount is briefly stated and lacks depth to fully support the argument. Additionally, the reasoning regarding nepotism and bribery touches on important issues but remains under-developed. To reach a higher band, the ideas require more elaboration, clearer examples, and greater depth of analysis throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a discernible overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, attempting a logical progression of ideas. However, paragraphing and cohesion are basic and sometimes faulty. The introduction mentions that reasons will be explained in "further paragraph" (singular), and the body paragraphs themselves lack smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or are missing, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase "due to this most people thinks its a that kind of job were people any money." The conclusion is extremely abrupt and fails to adequately summarize the main points, relying instead on a single sentence fragment.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their basic stance, but it is limited and contains numerous spelling and word-choice errors. There are frequent misspellings, such as "teh" instead of "the," "persue" instead of "pursue," "easiest" where "easy" or "easier" is required, and "apprecited." The range of vocabulary is restricted, and attempts at less common phrasing often result in awkward collocations or grammatical mistakes, such as "were people any money without any hardwork." These lexical inaccuracies sometimes cause strain for the reader, aligning the response with Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are frequently faulty and obscure the intended meaning, such as in the long, run-on sentence starting with "The main reason the talented people are not valued..." Errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., "peoples with genuine talent is"), article usage, and punctuation are frequent throughout the text. These persistent errors can cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate weak control over basic and complex grammatical forms, placing this performance firmly in the Band 5 category.
