Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many parts of the world, it is believed that any individual can excel in various domains of art such as music, literature, acting and art. People, who lack natural talent therefore, are become popular and rich. As a result, geniune talent lacks appreciation and value. I completely disagree with this notion because skillful and talented people are appreciated by appropriate platforms and audiences and the value of theaters and traditional art forms is growing rapidly.
To begin with, people can easily show their art and talent due to the availability of various social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. To explain, people can easily show their skills and talent to the world and reach the correct audience. For example, many organisations look for natural talent on various platforms for casting into movies and various other projects, which provides employment opportunities. Therefore, the awarreness and value of natural talent is gaining popularity these days.
Furthermore, art lovers often attend events and shows which provide exposure to raw and natural talent of the region. To put it simply, several art shows such as local theaters and poetry evenings are quite popular among people who understand and value talent and skills of the artist. These events not only hold sentimental value, but often boost the economy of the nation. It is therefore, an indespensible part of many communities and people often attend these shows to take a temporary break from their stressful lifestyle. Therefore, it has remained popular among people throughout the generations and the geniune talent is appreciated widely.
In conclusion, I completely disagree that natural talent has lost its value and charm as many platforms value raw talent and provide employment opportunities to many skillful artists. Moreover, local theatre and art shows are popular among all the generations and have gained popularity over the years.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The student presents a clear position throughout the essay, disagreeing with the prompt and asserting that genuine talent is still valued and appreciated. All parts of the task are addressed, with the student discussing both digital exposure and traditional art forms. Ideas are generally well-developed, though the supporting points tend to rely on slightly repetitive generalisations rather than deep elaboration or concrete real-world examples. For instance, the mention of platforms like Instagram and TikTok is relevant, but the explanation remains a bit broad. Nevertheless, the response fulfills the requirements for a Band 6.5 to 7.0 by maintaining a clear stance and exploring multiple facets of the issue. To reach a higher band, the student should provide more specific, developed examples rather than repeating similar arguments about popularity and employment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are utilised to connect sentences and paragraphs, such as 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion.' However, some cohesive links and referencing feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Therefore' to introduce concluding thoughts within paragraphs. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each body paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect of the argument—digital platforms versus traditional art forms. To achieve a higher score, the student could employ a wider variety of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure smoother transitions between sentences without relying heavily on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range suitable for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'indispensable,' 'exposure,' and 'sentiment value.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'geniune' instead of 'genuine,' 'awarreness' instead of 'awareness,' and 'indespensible' instead of 'indispensable.' Additionally, phrasing such as 'are become popular' contains grammatical and lexical collocation errors. While these errors do not seriously impede communication, they reflect a Band 6 level where vocabulary control lacks the precision and consistency required for higher bands. Expanding spelling accuracy and refining word forms will significantly improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-style ideas. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, such as 'People, who lack natural talent therefore, are become popular' (incorrect verb tense and awkward comma placement) and 'geniune talent lacks' (spelling). Punctuation is occasionally faulty, leading to run-on structures or unnecessary commas that disrupt the flow. While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the core arguments, they occur with enough frequency to prevent the essay from reaching Band 7, where frequent error-free sentences and tighter control are expected. Greater attention to verb forms and sentence construction is recommended.
