Student answer (Band 6.0)
In a lot of countries, a sinificant number of people believe that it doesn't take much to get into the art world, like pursuing a job in music, literature or painting. This leads to people with no talent getting rich and famous, while passionate and talented people not getting the recognition they deserve. In my opinion, I believe that talent is no more being appreciated for several reasons.
First of all, art is a way of expressing yourself in several ways, and these days it seems that art is mostly being used for monetary desires rather than just pursuing it for fun. For instance, a lot of new pop stars become famous just because of releasing songs with an upbeat style and trendy beats, that have meaningless lyrics and no real message. If everyone is trying something that they are not passionate about, then this leads to aspiring artists not getting a chance to be descovered in the industry.
In addition, the new generation seems to be inclined to not understand or undermine different forms of arts. Literature is not the same as it used to be, with books being written and targeted to only young audiences. As a result, historical written pieces are forgotten replaced by trendy books written by artificial intelligence.
In conclusion, people with no talent tend to become richer and more famous because following trends has become more important among the new generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that genuine talent is no longer appreciated due to a focus on monetary gain and trends. The ideas are generally relevant, discussing superficial pop music and AI-generated literature. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited, and the response falls short of the word count requirement, containing only 237 words against the minimum 250-word requirement. This under-length impacts the overall completeness and development of the arguments, preventing the score from reaching a higher band. Consequently, the task achievement is constrained to a band 5.5 as the response is partially addressed due to length and under-developed support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion', to sequence ideas. However, referencing and transitions are at times slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, but the lack of progression and limited depth in the body paragraphs slightly weaken the overall logical flow. The text meets the criteria for Band 6 as it has a coherent overall arrangement despite some faulty or mechanical cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'monetary desires', 'aspiring artists', and 'artificial intelligence'. However, there are notable lexical errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'sinificant' instead of 'significant' and 'descovered' instead of 'discovered'. Word choice is sometimes unnatural, as seen in the phrase 'talent is no more being appreciated'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a band 6.0 due to inaccuracy in less common vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'If everyone is trying something that they are not passionate about, then this leads to...'. There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings throughout the text, including redundant phrasing ('In my opinion, I believe') and minor prepositional inaccuracies. While these errors are noticeable, the majority of simple sentences are accurate, and meaning is generally clear without significant impedance to communication. This performance aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors for grammar.
