Student answer (Band 5.5)

GIven the fact in some countries around glabe people are obserevd to beleive, that anyone is capable of producing art. Which has resulted in non talented people becoming famous on the other hand talented people are not recognized enough. In my opinion it is a fact that people who are not well deserving enough gets the limelight but it is also to be kept in mind that it is the public who makes them famous.

Art comes in different forms and shapes and it is not limited to someone spesifically. Art has various forms and shaps. It can be painting, writing, poetry or acting. What i consider art someone whould might consider it useless. Well, It is easier for someone to get into field who have someone from family in spesific fields of art and they have earned enough fame. Despite of the fact if they have enough talent to be that famous or no.

On other hand, someone coming from a normal background and less resources but more talent, gets to stuggles alot. Moerover, for such talent it takes long time and hardwork to make its way up to the ladder. Sometimes, it remains unrecognized as well. Which is a big loss of talent for society.

In my opinion if we look at film industry, kids born to actors get chances very easily while those who are coming from a relatively less known families have to struggle give auditions and somewhere they are lost. So i do beleive that this kind of approach is a drawback for society. Finally,i would say that talent is required but art is not subjective and if you work hard enough, you are seen

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially, presenting an opinion that genuine talent is often overlooked in favour of well-connected individuals, while acknowledging that public demand plays a role. However, the position is not always clearly maintained, and the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion around nepotism in the film industry is introduced but not fully explored or supported with specific examples beyond a general mention of actor's kids. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to present a fully developed position with well-supported arguments and extend ideas logically throughout the essay, avoiding abrupt shifts in perspective.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response shows some organisation with basic paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression throughout the text. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, as seen in the overuse of phrases like 'In my opinion' and abrupt transitions like 'Finally,i would say'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the dangling clause in the opening sentence 'Which has resulted in non talented people becoming famous'. To improve, the writer needs to ensure logical relationships between sentences are clearly signaled using a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices, and structure paragraphs to build a cohesive and progressive argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There are noticeable lexical errors and issues with word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'glabe' instead of 'globe', 'obserevd to beleive', 'non talented', 'shaps', and 'stuggles alot'. Less common lexical items are attempted but often misused or misspelled, which causes some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire and demonstrate greater accuracy in word choice, spelling, and collocations, ensuring that less common vocabulary is used correctly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, frequently resulting in sentence fragments such as starting a sentence with 'Which has resulted in...'. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles, incorrect verb forms ('gets to stuggles alot', 'gets the limelight'), and issues with subject-verb agreement. These errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To progress to the next level, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of grammatical structures with improved accuracy, ensuring that simple and complex sentences are constructed correctly with proper punctuation and minimal errors.
