Student answer (Band 6.0)
The number of people contributing in the field of arts have increased alot in recent times. This has led to an oversaturation of content in the field. Due to which in many countries, the notion that ' anyone can do it' is becoming increasingly prevalent. Consequently, individuals with no talent become more successful than individuals with real talent. I believe this statement is only half valid, which i will discuss in my upcoming writing paragraphs.
To commence with, there are numerous reasons as to why genuine talent is still appreciated. One of them is review. To be more precise, art made by talented people is often times valued more than those made by people with no talent. Every art piece is inspected and critiqued by a number of professional artists , these artists do a thorough evaluation of the piece and they then give their opinion of it to the public. This professional inspection of a piece makes it easier for good art to become popular and stand out.
On the other hand, there are some factors which makes it easier for low effort art to become more popular than good art. One of the main reason being appeal. To clarify further, audiences frequently find art made by people with no talent more accessible and understandable. This is because good art is almost always displayed in very exclusive places which are not
reachable for the general public. Conversly, art made by people with no talent is made specifically to appeal to the public.
In conlusion, even though it is easier for people with no talent to sometimes outshine real artists by appealing to the masses, real art is still valued and appreciated by professionals in the fields. Real art is recognized more but it is not valued by the public as it is often times unreachable to them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that you agree with the statement to a certain extent. You successfully discuss both sides of the argument: how professional reviews value genuine talent, and conversely, how mass appeal makes low-effort art popular. However, some ideas remain under-developed. For instance, your point about professional inspection in the second paragraph lacks a concrete example to fully support how critics elevate talented artists. Similarly, your argument regarding exclusive display places in the third paragraph could be extended with an illustration. To reach the next level, you need to ensure that every main idea is fully elaborated with specific supporting evidence rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical structure. You make effective use of paragraphing to separate your introduction, two body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader, using transition phrases such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conlusion'. Nevertheless, cohesion occasionally feels somewhat mechanical or repetitive, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as the dangling modifier in 'Due to which in many countries...' which creates a fragmented sentence structure. To improve further, you should aim for a smoother flow between sentences and integrate cohesive markers more naturally without relying on formulaic transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'oversaturation', 'notion', 'inspected', and 'accessible'. However, there are some word choice and spelling errors that prevent a higher score, such as 'alot' (should be written as two words 'a lot'), 'Conversly' (spelling error for 'Conversely'), and 'in conlusion' (spelling error for 'conclusion'). Additionally, phrases like 'art made by' are repeated frequently, indicating that your lexical range could be broader and more precise. To move up, strive to use a wider variety of synonyms and collocation patterns with greater accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your writing uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating a reasonable attempt at complex structures such as 'One of the main reason being appeal' and 'even though it is easier for people with no talent to sometimes outshine real artists...'. However, there are some grammar and punctuation errors present throughout the text. For example, there is a subject-verb agreement error in 'The number of people contributing in the field of arts have increased' (should be 'has increased') and 'One of the main reason' (should be 'reasons'). Punctuation is also faulty in places, such as unnecessary spaces before commas in 'professional artists , these artists'. These errors reflect the characteristics of this band level where some grammatical inaccuracies persist, though they rarely impede overall communication.
