Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that,in some countries there is an attitude that'anyone can do it' in the arts regardless of their level of talent. As a result, people with linited ability become famous and rich.I partialy agree with this view because although genuine talent is still valued.

First and foremore, there are clear reason that social media and entertainment allow ordinary people to become famous very quickly. In the modern world popularity id based on followers, views, like rather than genuion ability.for example someone who entertain people through social media getting million of views and followers without having any strong skill like acting ,dancing etc. Consequently, sometimes popularity is important than real talent in today's entertaning world.

Furthermore, I believe that truly talented artist can still gain recogntion because their skill allow them to produce high quality of work. The primary reason is that people usually continue support the artist who demonstrate creativity, dedication and exceptional ability over a long period of time. For instance a singer who consistently produce meaningful and highquality song can built a supportive and strong audience and grab a award on this.As a result, this genuine talent remain an important factor in achieving long lasting sucess.

In conclusion, although there are minor argument against this,I strongly believe although social media has made people famous with limited talents.I do not believe that genuine talents has lost its value. In my opinion, popularity may be achive easily, but long term recognition usually require real ability and dedication.People need some talents to achive sucess.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task only partially and falls short of the minimum word count requirement, containing 244 words instead of the required 250. Your position is presented in the introduction, where you state that you 'partialy agree', but the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, your first body paragraph touches upon social media and popularity, but the arguments lack sufficient elaboration and clear supporting evidence. To move to a higher band, you need to extend your ideas fully with relevant examples and ensure you meet the minimum word count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay displays some overall organization with clear paragraph breaks, presenting a discernible arrangement of ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is not always clear. While you use basic transitional markers like 'First and foremore', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', the logical progression between sentences occasionally falters due to abrupt transitions. To improve, you should aim for more flexible and seamless use of cohesive devices, ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next to establish a clearer overall progression of thought throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to convey basic ideas. There are, however, noticeable errors in spelling, word form, and word choice that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'linited' instead of limited, 'partialy' instead of partially, 'genuion' instead of genuine, and 'entertaning' instead of entertaining. You also make repetitive use of terms like 'talent', 'famous', and 'popular'. To achieve a higher band, you must expand your lexical range, use less common vocabulary with greater precision, and eliminate spelling and word-form errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing spaces after punctuation marks, subject-verb agreement issues such as 'someone... getting million of views', and incorrect verb forms like 'popularity is important than' instead of more important than. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, you need to increase your control over complex sentence structures and carefully check your grammar, punctuation, and article usage.
