Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays in some countries , there is an attitude that anyone can do different skills such as arts, acting, literature and music. As a result, genuine and talented people are not valued while people with no skills become rich and femous. I partially agree with this statement because talent has its own value and no one can beat true talent.
In recent years, due to advances in technology people are becoming social media dependant. They use different social media accounts such as tiktok, instagram and you tube to show their talent. In this way more and more people watch their content and follow them,as a result they become famous and earn alot of money. Unfortunately, nowadays people are making useless and vulger content just to get publicity and to become rich. As

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
First, it must be noted that the response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 123 words out of the required 250 words. Furthermore, 8 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Regarding the content, the response responds to the task only minimally. While the writer manages to state a partial agreement with the prompt's premise and briefly touches upon social media trends in the second paragraph, the ideas are severely limited and under-developed. The text trails off mid-sentence ('As'), leaving the argument completely unfinished. To reach a higher standard, the writer would need to write a fully realized essay that addresses all parts of the prompt with extended and well-supported ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The text demonstrates basic organization with an introduction and the start of a body paragraph, but information and ideas are not arranged coherently as a whole, largely due to the abrupt ending of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but the second paragraph breaks off prematurely. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic, such as 'As a result', and referencing is occasionally unclear. To improve coherence and cohesion, the writer must ensure that ideas progress logically from an introduction through fully developed body paragraphs to a clear conclusion, using a wider variety of cohesive ties appropriately and maintaining a complete paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited and somewhat repetitive, representing a minimally adequate range for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as the spelling mistake 'femous' instead of 'famous' and the awkward collocation 'social media dependant' instead of 'dependent', as well as the misspelling 'vulger' instead of 'vulgar'. These errors reflect a restricted control over word choice and word formation, though they do not entirely obscure the core message. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to incorporate a wider and more precise range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items accurately with attention to spelling and collocation, and avoid basic spelling slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex forms that are either basic or cut short. Frequent errors occur in areas such as punctuation and spacing, demonstrated by spaces placed before commas and periods (e.g., 'countries ,', 'music.As'). There are also minor preposition and hyphenation issues, such as 'you tube' instead of 'YouTube'. Because the text is so short and incomplete, the grammar remains constrained and error-dense relative to the output length. To progress, the writer should demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence patterns with consistent control over punctuation, articles, and spacing.
