You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 4.5)

Many people believe that everyone can handle everything that they want to try or do it. Eventually most of wealthy people become famous and genuine but they do not have talent. So nowadays talent is not valued or appreciated as does not have talent rich people, But I strongly disagree with this statement.

Most of people has an interest with performance industry, and some of them starts it on their young age to improve the talents or hobbies. In this point parents are really significant for developing their children at young age which is take their time and becomes efficiently beneficial for children. They become independent and can take responsibilities. Furthermore, having hobby is makes individual more genuine as no matter they have s talent or not.

On the hand, some big corporations cannot regard employees talent of work or their efficiency of project. In my experience, some people who has a talent without effort or resilience. However, wealthy workers cannot prove their talent as they act like talent is not value.

In addition, public becomes leave their talents as a hobby because of wealthy individuals attitude that they can take anything whether they do not have talent as people who has talent. So talent is not valuable or appreciated thing cause even if you do not get a company or become employee you can improve your talent and make them worth it for who cannot prove their talent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a position—“I strongly disagree”—and refer to relevant themes such as parents supporting children’s abilities and people pursuing talents as hobbies. However, the argument does not clearly explain why you disagree with the claim that untalented people become famous and genuine talent is undervalued. Several points are difficult to interpret, including the discussion of corporations and “wealthy workers,” and there are no specific examples or evidence to develop your claims. The conclusion also does not clearly resolve your position. The response is 238 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250 words. To strengthen the response, explain your position directly, develop two relevant reasons, and support each with a clear example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Your response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph, and you use signposting such as “Furthermore” and “In addition.” These features provide some organisation. However, the progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the relationship between points is often unclear. For example, the paragraph about parents and children does not clearly connect to whether genuine artistic talent is valued, while “On the hand” introduces a point about corporations that is not linked to the previous discussion. The final paragraph repeats the idea that talent is not appreciated without bringing the argument to a clear conclusion. Use topic sentences that directly support your position, and make each paragraph develop one connected reason with clear links between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “performance industry,” “resilience,” “independent,” and “appreciated.” This shows some ability to discuss work, talent, and personal development. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations make your meaning unclear, such as “become famous and genuine,” “regard employees talent of work,” and “make them worth it.” Repetition of “talent,” “people,” and “wealthy” also limits precision. Aim to use more accurate topic-specific phrases and check how words combine in English. For instance, distinguish between being famous, being talented, and being genuine, and use expressions such as “recognise artistic ability” or “gain public recognition” where they fit your intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, using connectors such as “because,” “as,” and “whether.” However, errors in sentence structure and basic grammar are frequent, and they sometimes make the intended meaning hard to understand. Examples include “Most of people has,” “some of them starts,” and “having hobby is makes,” which show problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms. The sentence beginning “In my experience, some people who has a talent” is incomplete, and punctuation is inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops and an unnecessary capital after a comma. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
