Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some parts of the world, even today, there is a specific behaviour towards the fields of arts like music, literature, acting, and art. People believe that such fields are easy to learn and anyone can master them. Because of this, people who are talented don't succeed, while others do. Although, I agree that such attitudes exist, but I disagree on this reason behind the failures of well-known artists. In this essay, I will explain my opinion with reason and example.
I believe that in many countires the field of art is not valued enough. People view the efforts of artists as a waste of time. The society views such skills to be mastered easily as compared to complex sciences like: medicine and computer science. The main reason behind this is that they provide no specific outcomes that can benefit the people around them like money. For instance, in Pakistan, music, literature, and art is not valued. The people who choose such fields are viewed as failure, because they weren't able to get into the fields of enigneering, medicine, or information technology. As a result of not getting recognition or respect, people either abandon their fields in the beginning or don't earn much. Due to this, they are outcasted in their society. This proves the point that these fields are undervaluved in many countries, eventhough they were the part of their culture.
However, I have different views when it come to success. Many people believe that a person's success depends on the field he pursues, especially when it's in trends in the society's job market. I disagree with this point of view. According to my perspective, becoming famous and rich doesn't depends on what skill one has mastered. It solely depends on how one uses his skills to provide people with the solution they need to solve a specific problem. In simple words, a person who studied business can become unsuccessful if he does not benefit others with his product. On the other hand, an acrylic painter can become well-known and rich if he properly studies the market, find his target audience, sells products and builds trust overtime.
Overall, the fields of arts have been viewed as inferior when it comes to mastering them. However, this does not mean that artists will always be unsuccessful. Success depends on how one used their skill to create or meet a demand.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you accept that the arts may be undervalued, but reject the claim that this necessarily prevents talented artists from succeeding. The Pakistan example and the contrast between a business graduate and an acrylic painter are relevant and help address the prompt. However, the response focuses more on society’s low regard for the arts and how people can succeed than on whether people with little talent become rich and famous or whether genuine talent is overlooked. The claim that success depends on meeting a market demand is plausible, but it needs a clearer link to talent and fame, supported by a more specific example. Developing that central comparison would make the argument more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression from the social status of the arts to the conditions for success is easy to follow, and signposts such as “However” and “Overall” help guide the reader. Some connections are less precise, though. The first body paragraph moves from the arts being viewed as a waste of time to artists abandoning their fields, without fully explaining how this supports the prompt’s claim about talent and fame. The introduction’s “Although … but” construction also makes the relationship between ideas awkward. Use clearer links between each example and your position, and vary transitions so the argument feels less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for discussing the topic, including phrases such as “target audience,” “market,” “recognition,” and “outcasted in their society.” These choices help communicate your ideas, and some topic-specific vocabulary adds precision. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “specific behaviour towards the fields of arts,” “viewed as failure,” and “provide people with the solution they need.” There are also spelling errors, including “countires,” “enigneering,” and “undervaluvved,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe the arts as “regarded as less valuable” and artists as “seen as failures.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional and contrastive sentences such as “if he does not benefit others with his product” and “if he properly studies the market.” Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “Although, I agree … but I disagree” combines two contrasting structures incorrectly; use either “Although I agree …, I disagree …” or “I agree …, but I disagree …”. There are also agreement and verb-form problems in “music, literature, and art is not valued,” “doesn't depends,” and “how one used their skill.” Review subject–verb agreement and keep verb forms consistent. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
