Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, everyone can participate in everyone kind of field like singing, art, acting and literature, etc. This is an important topic because it affects individuals and society in different ways. It is often argued that a person can become popular and rich without talent and a person who is talented is not that much valued or appreciated.

On one hand, in my opinion I will disagree with this result. This is because, a person who is talented can achieve his goal easily in that field. For example, if I talk about the famous football player Messi he is genuine talented while playing football he had good skills in it and he achieve his all goals easily because he was born with this talent and for that he is famous and everyone appreciate him by his talent. Therefore, having talent is way better than having no talent.

On the other hand, people become more aware of this situation that a person without talent is more famous it is because that person did a lot of hardworking in that field to achieve his goals. Doing hard work can improve both productivity and efficiency. Consequently, society may experience positive changes. However, there are also some drawbacks to this trend. although this development has benefits, it may also create challenges.

In my opinion, becoming good in a field without talent depend on your hardworking which make you popular and rich. A good example of this can be seen in a famous football player known as Ronaldo had become popular and rich among the generation not because of its talent all because of his hard working.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a position against the claim that talent is not valued, and you also recognise that hard work can help someone without natural ability become successful. However, the response only partially addresses the question because the discussion shifts to footballers rather than the arts named in the prompt. Messi is used to support the value of talent, while Ronaldo is presented as successful through hard work, but neither example explains how audiences, media, or the arts industry reward or overlook artistic ability. The position is also difficult to follow: you first disagree, then appear to accept that people without talent can become famous and rich. Develop a consistent view and support it with relevant examples from music, acting, literature, or visual art.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph, so there is some basic organisation. The contrast markers “On one hand” and “On the other hand” signal a change in direction, and “For example” introduces an illustration. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the first body paragraph argues that talent leads to success, while the next suggests hard work explains fame, without resolving how these points answer the question. The sentence “However, there are also some drawbacks to this trend” is not followed by a specific drawback, and the following sentence repeats a general point. Use each paragraph to develop one connected reason, make references explicit, and ensure the conclusion follows from the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general discussion, including “talented,” “popular,” “hardworking,” “productivity,” and “efficiency.” There are also attempts to express cause and result through phrases such as “because of” and “Consequently.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, particularly repeated uses of “famous,” “talent,” and “achieve his goals.” Some collocations and word forms are awkward, such as “genuine talented,” “a lot of hardworking,” and “everyone kind of field,” which make parts of the argument less natural. Aim for more precise language about artistic recognition and success, and check that adjectives, nouns, and common word partnerships are used accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if I talk about the famous football player Messi” and a result clause introduced by “because.” This shows some effort to vary sentence structure. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences awkward or difficult to process. For example, “a person who is talented can achieve his goal” shifts awkwardly between singular and general meaning, while “he achieve his all goals” has an incorrect verb form and word order. In “becoming good in a field without talent depend on your hardworking,” the subject–verb agreement is incorrect. Practise accurate verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread longer sentences for clarity.
