Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, people think that everyone can do better in the arts section such as music, literature, acting and art. For this reason, people with no talent become popular and rich. Whereas, people with genuine talent is not appreciated. I completely agree with this statement that people who deserve recognition they are not valued.

The main reason for this is that people often judge artists by their popularity rather than their skills. At present, people become more famous using different type of social media platforms like facebook, instagram and tiktok. By using these platforms anyone can get the popularity. Social media allows ordinary people to become famous. This is because viral videos can attract million of viewers. Sometimes, originally talented people get lost among them. Even, they do not get the minimum respect they deserve.

Another compelling fact is that success in the arts requires not only talent but also years of practice and dedication. Genuinely talented people may struggle to receive the recognition they deserve. In contrast, some people use their money to become popular which is a illigal way. As a result, they think that there are no need of talent and skills to become popular but people with actual talent they do not use money or other thing like that to become famous. If they get the opportunity to show their talent then definitely they can gain popularity.

In conclusion, I largely agree with that social media allows less talented people to become celebrity and wealthy, while genuinely talented artists are sometimes overlooked. Therefore, people should value real talent and skills rather than popularity alone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You address the central concern by explaining that social-media popularity can overshadow skill, and you add a second relevant point about the practice and dedication required to develop artistic ability. These ideas are pertinent, but they are not equally developed: the social-media point has a little explanation, while the claim that some people use money to become popular is asserted without a specific example or clear explanation of how this displaces genuine artists. The response also focuses mainly on fame and recognition rather than fully exploring the claim that untalented people become rich. Develop each reason with a concrete example and make that link explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. The progression from social-media popularity to the effort involved in developing talent is easy to follow. You use linking expressions such as “For this reason,” “In contrast,” and “As a result,” although some connections feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. For example, “Whereas” begins a fragment after the opening sentences, and “Even” does not connect naturally to the point about talented people being overlooked. Some references are also unclear, particularly “they” in the final sentences of the second body paragraph. Use complete transitions and name the people or ideas being referred to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “genuine talent,” “recognition,” “dedication,” and “viral videos,” which helps communicate your main points. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “judge artists by their popularity rather than their skills.” However, several word choices and collocations are imprecise or repetitive: “arts section,” “get the popularity,” and “gain popularity” recur, while “a illigal way” is both misspelled and unsuitable for the intended meaning. “People with actual talent they do not use money or other thing like that” is also awkward and vague. Aim for more natural collocations and precise wording, and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “while,” and most of your meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors occur, however, particularly with agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “people with genuine talent is not appreciated” should use a plural verb, and “there are no need of talent” has incorrect agreement and structure. “A illigal way” also contains an article error, while “I completely agree with this statement that people who deserve recognition they are not valued” has an unnecessary repeated subject. The opening “Whereas” sentence is incomplete. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and make sure each sentence has a complete, clearly structured clause.
