Student answer (Band 6.0)
agree
digital platforms > social media .youtube. facebook. tiktok
reels> attention grabbing > viral > trending
doom scrolling> make vidoes and posts according to trend > whats going on
whereas natural audience building takes time > years of dedication and harwork , patience
limited traget audience > less reviews > algorithym designed to show to releveant audience
Nowadays, with the rapid development of society, success in the arts has become one of the most widely discussed issues around the world. Some people believe that individuals without genuine talent can become rich and famous, while truly talented artists are often overlooked. I completely agree with this viewpoint. This essay will explain why I completely agree with this statement.
To begin with, one significant reason why I agree with this statement is that digital platforms like youtube, instagram, facebook, and tiktok algorithms are designed in a way to show trending, attention grabbing and viral posts and videos to the huge audience. This is because in a recent technological era people become really addictive to doom scrolling and watching irrelevant videos which contained music, dance, funny clips , pranks etc. As a result, people with no skill just follow the trend and post and get alot of views. In addition thier success determined from thier views, followers and reach.Furthermore Social media creates overnight celebrities.Marketing is often more important than talent.Viral content attracts attention.
Another compelling reason supporting my opinion is that real artists possess exceptional talent. This enables Genuine artists spend years developing their skills.. Consequently, they have there real targeted audience that's why They receive less attention than influencers. In addition digital algorithms also suggest thier content to the relevant audience who want that type of content and they get limited views. Furthermore, Audiences often prefer entertainment over excellence. . Therefore, they get recognized after years of hardwork and dedication.after working consistently and create high-quality content and showing artistic excellencethey achieve succes after a long time period.
In conclusion, I firmly agree with this statement because modern society increasingly values popularity over artistic ability. Therefore, society should recognize thier creative potential in order to ensure that genuine talent receives the recognition it deserves.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and maintained in the conclusion: you agree that popularity can outweigh artistic ability. Both body paragraphs offer relevant reasons, especially the influence of viral social-media content and the slower development of skilled artists. The examples of algorithms, trends and audience reach help explain your view. This meets the task well, and the argument shows some development beyond simply stating an opinion. However, several claims remain broad—for example, that audiences prefer entertainment over excellence—and the second paragraph repeats the idea that genuine artists receive limited attention without giving a specific example or explaining the consequences in depth. Develop these points with a concrete case or clearer evidence to make the argument more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Another compelling reason,” and “In conclusion” make the overall progression easy to follow. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, as several sentences begin with “In addition” or “Furthermore,” and the second body paragraph moves between artists’ training, audience size, algorithms and recognition without clearly showing how each point connects. Some references are also unclear, such as “they have there real targeted audience.” Group related ideas more tightly, use pronouns with clear referents, and vary linking methods so the connections feel logical rather than formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital platforms,” “viral,” “algorithms,” “targeted audience,” “dedication,” and “artistic excellence.” These terms help communicate the contrast between online popularity and developed artistic skill. There is also some attempt to use topic-specific language rather than relying entirely on general words. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “alot,” “thier,” “succes,” and “addictive” where “addicted” is intended. Some combinations are awkward or imprecise, such as “real targeted audience” and “success determined from their views.” Aim for accurate collocations and proofread spelling; more precise phrasing will make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “This is because…” and a relative clause in “videos which contained music, dance, funny clips…” The main argument is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas harder to follow. For example, “people become really addictive” has an incorrect adjective pattern, while “real artists possess exceptional talent. This enables Genuine artists spend years…” has faulty sentence construction. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “their success determined,” and inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation. Practise complete sentence patterns, verb forms and clause connections, then check each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb.
