Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argued that in some parts of the world, there is an belief that anyone can do better in the arts such as music, literature, acting, art etc. Due to this, people with genuine talent were not getting approperiate rewards and individuals with no skills are becoming financially strong and well known in the society. I agree to a large extent that people without talent were becoming rich. However, people with the real skill and talent was never underestimated.

One the one hand, people who doesn't have an proper knowdelege on the arts are becoming well known and very rich because of social media platforms. They often create content related to arts and post in the internet without any regerts of their work and it reaches to the many parts of the world. So, it become easy for showcasing there work to many people by this their many people react to thier posts and they are becoming famous. In addition, they are using their popularity to earn money by promoting unneccasary products and becoming rich.

On the other hand, people who had real talent in the arts are always encouraged by the people beacuse they have good skills which attracts them. Firstly, people with genuine talent have good grip on the specific field and they mastered the arts from basic to high level. So, their work is far better that the people with no skill and they perform well at that the field. For example, singer with good skill can attract lot of people with the way they sing a song, but the people will not pay attention to those who are lacking this particular art. Therefore, talent was never ignored by anyone they are always welcomed.

In conclusion, I belive that people who are bad at the arts are earning more money nowadays through social media platforms. Nevertheless, people with genuine talent valued and appreciated even though they are earing less.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that people without strong artistic ability can become rich through social media, while arguing that genuine talent is still valued. The response addresses both sides and gives relevant support, including the example of a skilled singer attracting an audience. However, the two claims are not developed equally. The explanation of how online content and product promotion generate fame and money is more specific, while the claim that talented artists are “always encouraged” and “never ignored” is broad and not fully supported. The conclusion also introduces the idea that talented people earn less without explaining why. Develop this contrast with a concrete example or clearer reasoning, and qualify generalisations to make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a logical order, and linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Firstly,” and “Therefore” help guide the reader. This organisation is effective, though some connections feel mechanical, and the repeated use of “So” makes the reasoning sound formulaic. There are also unclear references, as in “by this their many people react to thier posts,” where the relationship between the content, audience response, and fame is difficult to follow. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make pronoun references explicit. The paragraphing is appropriate, but clearer links between claims and examples would strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “genuine talent,” “social media platforms,” “promoting,” and “popularity,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “an belief,” “appropriate rewards” (misspelled in the response), “good grip on the specific field,” and “unnecessary products.” Some phrases are also repetitive, particularly “people with genuine talent” and “becoming famous/rich.” Aim for more natural combinations such as “expertise in a particular art form” and “gain recognition,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish artistic skill, public attention, and commercial success.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “because” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, tense, and articles occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “people who doesn't have” should use a plural verb, while “people with the real skill and talent was” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Tense also shifts between “are becoming” and “were not getting,” and “One the one hand” is missing a word. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent tense, and correct singular or plural forms. More accurate control of these basics will make your ideas easier to follow.
