You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes I agree with the statement that "Geniune talent is not valued or appericated".

And it is very common in this modern era. People become rich and famous although they have no talent. But on the other hand ,people contains the talent of singing, acting etc but they are financial week and cannot bring their selves in front of front . If we take the examples of real life mostly people lives in cottages . they don't have enogh resourses to express their talent in front of world . they spent all over lives to fullfill their needs but eventually ,in sence of talent they are god gifted .

The government should gives opportunities to these people so that they can exprss their ideas and shows their talent to the world.Because these people are very essential for the development and growth of country .so that the country will makes progress with lesps and bounds.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position—“Yes I agree”—and give relevant reasons: people with limited financial means may lack opportunities to show their artistic ability, while government support could help them contribute to national development. However, the response addresses the issue only partially. It does not explain how people without talent become rich or famous, nor does it provide a specific example or evidence to support the claims. The point about people living in cottages is also broad and not clearly connected to how talent is overlooked. The response is 154 words, below the required 250, so the argument remains substantially underdeveloped. Extend each main idea with explanation and a concrete example, and address both sides of the statement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic sequence: it states agreement, describes talented people facing financial barriers, and ends with a recommendation for government support. Connectors such as “on the other hand,” “Because,” and “so that” show an attempt to link ideas. However, the overall progression is limited, and the response is presented as one long paragraph rather than organised into clear stages. Some links are awkward or unclear: “Because these people are very essential…” is a fragment, while “so that the country will makes progress” does not clearly connect to the preceding sentence. Use separate paragraphs for the position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make each transition express a precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “talent,” “singing,” “acting,” “opportunities,” and “development and growth.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of your argument. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including “Geniune,” “appericated,” “resourses,” and “exprss.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “financial week,” “bring their selves in front of front,” and “in sence of talent.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and avoid repeating general terms such as “talent” without elaboration. For example, you could refer to “financial barriers,” “showcase their abilities,” or “recognition for artistic work.” Proofreading spelling would also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You communicate a basic argument, but grammatical control is uneven and the range of sentence structures is limited. There are attempts to combine ideas, yet some sentences are faulty: “The government should gives opportunities” has incorrect verb agreement after “should,” and “Because these people are very essential…” is an incomplete sentence. Other examples include “people contains the talent” and “the country will makes progress,” where subject–verb agreement or verb forms are incorrect. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly where full stops are missing or spaces appear before commas. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although,” and “so that.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
