You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In few countries their is a popular opinion with some fields like arts and entertainment that anyone can do it. This approach results in the suppression of actual talented peoples as the non talented people takes their place and gets all the fame. I totally disagree with this view, because in today's era with the influence of social media anyone can get famous without even being real. There are a lot of platforms where everone can act and perform without real knowledge and ethics and make this field unprofessional.

One of the major reason behind this idea is that the social platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok provided an open platform for everyone. There reach is of million of viewers and people act on different movie scenes, dialogues and songs. Whereas, there are certain tools and filters which make every act as genuine and makes it look so professional. Due to these kind of details any viewer can cosnider it like everyone can do it, without having prior knowledge and traning. In today's era there a lot of influencers who got millions of followers and a lot of fame and money by just making videos online.

The real talent and professionalism got developed by years of practice and it is not that thing that developed overnight. People spend a lot of money and efforts to learn skills and to get in depth knowledge of any field. But in this era, the fame can be got by just one viral video of anyone and by leaving behind the years of hardwork and passion of the real artists.

To conclude that, it is stated that there is no doubt that anyone can get fame and money through digital platforms but the significance of actual artisits can't be reduced. There is a dire need that the actual artists also need to develop their digital presence so the viewers also can get access to them and can differntiate between the real and fake ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you reject the idea that genuine artistic talent is no longer valued, and you explain how social media can make people famous quickly. The examples of influencers, filters and viral videos are relevant to the topic. However, the response only partly addresses the central claim. It focuses mainly on how non-professionals gain fame, then asserts that “the significance of actual artists can't be reduced” without showing how audiences or the industry continue to recognise and appreciate them. The final suggestion that artists build a digital presence is useful but not fully explained. Develop this contrast with a specific example or evidence, and make the link between your reasons and your disagreement more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally move from social media’s reach to the effort required to develop artistic skill, and phrases such as “One of the major reason” and “To conclude” signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the discussion of filters, viewers’ perceptions and influencers is not clearly connected step by step. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, particularly “Whereas” at the start of a sentence and “Due to these kind of details.” The conclusion also introduces a recommendation without fully linking it to the argument. Use clearer references and transitions to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “suppression,” “professionalism,” “viral video,” “hardwork” and “digital presence,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. There are also attempts to express nuanced ideas, such as distinguishing genuine artists from people who gain attention online. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “fame,” “people” and “field,” while several word choices and collocations are inaccurate: “actual talented peoples,” “provided an open platform,” and “the fame can be got” sound unnatural. Spelling errors such as “everone,” “cosnider” and “artisits” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural collocations for discussing artistic recognition and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “Due to these kind of details any viewer can…” and a relative clause in “tools and filters which make…”. This gives the response some structural variety, but errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Examples include “In few countries their is,” “the non talented people takes,” “There reach is,” and “the fame can be got.” These show problems with articles, subject–verb agreement, possessives and passive constructions. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as in the long opening sentence of the second paragraph. Practise checking one sentence at a time for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and a natural clause structure.
