Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

Your position is identifiable: you agree that genuine artistic talent is not valued or appreciated, and you begin to introduce the role of the arts. However, the response addresses the question only minimally. It does not explain how people without talent become rich or famous, compare them with genuinely talented artists, or develop supporting examples. The statement that talented people can make art their job and gain opportunities is relevant, but it is unfinished and unsupported. The response also falls substantially short of the required minimum length, leaving the argument incomplete. To improve, state your position clearly, address both sides of the claim, and develop each main point with an explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening sentence gives your view, followed by “First of all” to introduce a supporting point. This provides a small amount of progression, but the ideas are not developed into a coherent argument. The opening combines several claims in one sentence, and the final point about talented people gaining opportunities stops before its meaning is fully explained. With no further paragraphs or conclusion, the reader cannot follow how your ideas connect or how they support your position. Use separate paragraphs for your position, reasons and conclusion, and connect each claim to the next with clear explanation rather than relying on a single transition.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “arts,” “talented people,” “successful,” and “valued or appreciated,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is narrow, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the opening difficult to interpret, such as “impove,” “dea,” and “talet.” The phrase “talent is an attitude” also does not express the intended idea clearly; “artistic ability” or “talent can be developed” would be more precise, depending on your meaning. “Making it their job” is understandable but informal and awkward in this context. Build a wider set of accurate terms for artistic achievement and recognition, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows an attempt to express a complex contrast in the opening, but sentence control is weak and the range of structures is limited. For example, “Some countries nowadays believe … while, some believes …” has faulty clause construction, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation. The phrase “talented people making it their job that can provides” does not form a complete, accurate sentence, and “I strongly agreed” uses an unsuitable verb form for stating your present opinion. These errors make parts of the message difficult to follow. Practise writing clear subject–verb sentences first, then combine them with accurate contrast clauses. Check agreement, verb forms, capitalisation of “I,” and punctuation at sentence boundaries.
