Student answer (Band 6.0)
Currently, in some nations, people with no talent become rich and popular and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated because there is an attitude that anybody can work in music, literature, acting, and art, etc. In this essay, I will discuss why I partially agree with this statement because real talent still plays an important role despite having opportunities to get success with the help of social media.
On the one hand, it has become convenient for people to become famous by using social media. To explain it, people can post their videos, photos and different kinds of content on various platforms, such as instagram, snapchat and they can become well-known among people without having real talent in music, literature, acting, etc. Moreover, people have connections with famous personalities and they know how to promote their content among public, so it is easy for them to get good roles in acting and music videos to become famous.
On the other hand, there are many reasons that the real talent plays a crucial role and it is valued by a number of people. For example, people who have taste in art and literature, they prefer to watch this kind of content and also share with others. There are a number of people who become famous on social media because of their talent in acting and music, which is really appreciated by public. Although people with real talent suffer because of huge competition and limited opportunites, they can still become successful by working hard and showing their talent to public.
In conclusion, although people with no real talent can exceed in art, acting, and music with the social media and connections with famous people, talented people have their real talent to show in public and seek appreciation and value that they genuienly deserve.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the claim and state a clear, qualified position: you “partially agree” because social media can create fame, while genuine talent remains valued. The two body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including online promotion and connections on one side, and audiences’ appreciation of skilled performers on the other. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that people with connections obtain acting roles could be supported with a specific example or explanation of how this affects talented artists. The point about competition and hard work is also brief. Develop these ideas with clearer evidence and explain more directly whether fame without talent means genuine talent is undervalued overall. (Eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion that restates your position. The ideas generally progress in a logical order, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Although” help show relationships between points. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through the balanced organisation. To make the progression more consistently smooth, reduce repeated references to “people,” “talent,” and “famous,” and make links between claims more explicit. For example, the sentence about audiences sharing art and literature could be connected more clearly to the argument that genuine talent is appreciated. Check punctuation and sentence boundaries so that transitions feel natural rather than formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “social media,” “promote their content,” “connections,” “competition,” and “appreciated,” which allows you to discuss fame and artistic ability clearly. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “plays a crucial role.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Exceed in art” does not express the intended idea of succeeding, and “seek appreciation and value” is awkward in this context. “Among public” and “real talent” are also repeated or imprecise. Spelling errors such as “opportunites” and “genuienly,” along with inconsistent capitalisation of platform names, reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise alternatives and vary repeated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “although,” and “which.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the contrast between the two sides is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with clause structure and articles. For example, “people who have taste in art and literature, they prefer” contains an unnecessary repeated subject; write “people who have a taste in art and literature prefer.” In “it is valued by a number of people,” the pronoun reference is unclear, and “share with others” needs an object such as “share it.” Review article use, subject–verb patterns, and punctuation around longer sentences. Greater accuracy across these structures would strengthen the response.
