Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world, there is an attitude that ' anyone can do it' in the arts- music, literature, acting, art, etc. Genuine talent is not getting value and appreciation however people with no talent become rich and famous. I completely agree as people with good reach and family connection tends to have better opportunity rather than people who has pure talent. I will discuss both the views in the following paragraph.

To begin with, families prefer their offspring to carry forward their own line of profession, allowing individual to gain similar exposure resulting promising work irrespective of skill and talent. For example, despite having lower grades and skill many of my friends from influential family background got better job opportunity in the field of designing whereas, other skillful, talented students struggled to land on average jobs. Moreover, if an artist is talented and has a great family connection get the scope of showcasing it easily rather than a commoner. Another surprising aspect would be acknowledgement of non talented people, rather misusing certain form of art just to engage larger audience. For instance, many social media trend shows such kind of act, without any skill and talent people get money and fame.

However, many individuals with pure form of talent achieve their goals and earn the stardom. It completely depend on how determined and strong headed an individual is to achieve this kind of position. Many individuals hain it with the help of those people who truly admire and appreciate talent and creativity. For example, one of my classmate earned great scholarship opportunity along with great placement just by her own skill and talent. This definitely shows talent can figure out its own path.

To conclude, skill, creativity is not enough on its own one should work hard to showcase to the audience in order to gain such high point of life but I agree highly of the fact that anyone with influential background and people with luck get more recognition and easier path than those talented individuals as they tends to work hard to achieve it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that people with influence can gain recognition more easily than genuinely talented artists. You address both sides by discussing family connections and social-media fame, then acknowledging that determined, talented people can also succeed. The examples about your friends and classmate make the response relevant. However, the discussion is uneven: the point about family influence is developed more fully, while the claim that talent can “figure out its own path” is supported by only one brief example. Some claims, such as that non-talented people misuse art to attract audiences, also need clearer explanation and a closer link to the question of whether genuine talent is valued. Develop each main idea with a fuller explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “However” help readers follow the argument. At times, though, connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Another surprising aspect” introduces the social-media point without explaining how it follows from family influence, and “I will discuss both the views” is not quite accurate because the essay mainly supports one position. Some references, such as “it” in “It completely depend,” are also unclear. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between claims, and make each paragraph’s central idea explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “influential family background,” “showcasing,” “determined,” “creativity,” and “recognition.” These choices help express ideas about access and artistic success. However, several word combinations and forms are imprecise or repetitive, which limits clarity and flexibility. Phrases such as “getting value and appreciation,” “better opportunity,” “pure form of talent,” and “high point of life” do not sound natural in this context. “Non talented” is also repeated, and “reach” is unclear when describing influence. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms; this will make your argument sound more natural while retaining your relevant vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including clauses with “despite,” “whereas,” and “in order to,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “people with good reach and family connection tends” should use a plural verb, while “It completely depend” also needs agreement. In “if an artist is talented and has a great family connection get the scope,” the conditional clause lacks a clear main-clause subject and verb. There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary issues, such as the comma before “however” in the introduction. Review agreement and clause structure, then proofread punctuation.
