Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear opinion that the situation is a problem, and you mention relevant points: social media can make people famous, while skilled artists may receive little recognition. However, the response only partially addresses the question. It does not clearly explain whether people without talent become rich and famous at the expense of genuine artists, or develop this contrast with specific examples or evidence. The point that “some artists are not famous” is repeated rather than explained, and “Therefore he do not work hard” does not clearly support your argument. The response is 182 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough space to develop your position. Add a focused explanation and a concrete example for each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: you introduce the issue, give points about social media and hard-working artists, and finish with your opinion. Simple linking words such as “First,” “Second,” “But,” and “Therefore” help show relationships between ideas. However, the overall progression is not clear because points are repeated and sometimes do not connect logically. For example, “some artists are not famous” appears more than once, and the claim “Therefore he do not work hard” seems to contradict the preceding point that good artists work hard. Paragraphing is also limited, with ideas crowded together. Organise the response into distinct paragraphs, each with one main point, and use clear references and links to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is basic but relevant to the topic, including “famous,” “talented,” “social media,” “skills,” and “hard work.” These words make your general meaning understandable. However, the range is limited, and several spelling or word-form errors make the writing less clear, such as “thick” for “think” and “importants” for “important.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “they should chances to show skills” and “good things.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing artistic ability and recognition, such as “gain public attention,” “develop their craft,” and “recognise genuine talent.” Check spelling and choose specific words so your ideas are expressed more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You mainly use short, simple sentences, and some are clear, such as “But famous people are not always talented.” There are also attempts to connect ideas with “if” and “because”-type reasoning, although the range of sentence structures remains limited. Errors occur frequently in basic sentence formation and agreement: “They should chances to show skills” is missing a verb, “Hard work and skills very importants” lacks a linking verb, and “Therefore he do not work hard” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “A people.” Use a reliable simple sentence pattern first, then practise joining related ideas with accurate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and complete meaning.
