Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this fast-moving world of technology, where technology is advancing in every field of life. It is often argued that genuine talent is not valued or appreciated; this statement is somewhat correct. Because people value money over appreciation.

On the one hand, the attitude of people is now changing because everyone wants to do everything that they find hard. From my perspective, individuals are becoming more advanced, and they don't let other people compete with them. The sense of jealousy is increasing considerably. For example, there is a classmate in my class who is very intelligent and doesn't help anybody to pass the exam.

Secondly, tension, depression, and anxiety are the gifts of this modern era. Furthermore, the competition is also increasing due to the advancement in technology. For instance, in many developed countries like Australia, Canada, and Europe, they evaluate talent like singing and dancing, and their authorities also provide them with facilities to prove themselves. However, In asian countries like Pakistan and India, the Green-eyed is at its peak, and even they let anybody stay happy. Moreover, Goverments should provide free facilities to people who have talent, and they should also appreciate the talent. Through this, citizens have a chance to prove themselves and gain recognition for their talent rather than rich people who become famous just by their power of money.

In conclusion, I believe that paying attention to talent is more beneficial than respecting people for the sake of money. Talent is the thing that can't die while money is a thing that you spent it careless you will become poor within a few days.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a position—that the claim is “somewhat correct”—and your conclusion reinforces the view that talent deserves recognition over wealth. However, the response only partly addresses the specific issue of people without talent becoming rich and famous while genuine talent is overlooked. The points about jealousy, anxiety, and competition are not consistently connected to this claim, and the classmate example concerns academic help rather than the arts or fame. Your suggestions about government support are relevant, but need explanation and a concrete example showing how such support would help talented artists. Develop a clearer argument about the arts and explain whether you agree or disagree more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the stages visible. However, the ideas do not build into a clear overall progression: the discussion moves from competition and a classmate to mental health, national comparisons, and government facilities without explaining the links. Some transitions are also confusing, particularly “However” before the comparison between Asian and Western countries, and “Moreover” introduces a recommendation rather than a continuation of the preceding point. Group related ideas together and use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, or consequence accurately. This would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “genuine talent,” “gain recognition,” “competition,” and “appreciate,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “Green-eyed.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the intended meaning unclear: “the Green-eyed is at its peak” does not work as written, and “they let anybody stay happy” is difficult to interpret. “The gifts of this modern era” is also an unsuitable collocation for anxiety and depression. Spelling and word-form errors such as “Goverments” and “careless” further reduce control. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling; for example, describe envy as widespread rather than using “green-eyed” as a noun.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex structures, including clauses beginning with “because” and “where,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to follow. The opening fragment, “In this fast-moving world … where technology is advancing,” is not a complete sentence, while “Because people value money over appreciation” is also a fragment. In the final sentence, “a thing that you spent it careless” has problems with verb form, pronoun use, and sentence structure. There are also inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation choices. Practise writing complete sentences and check that each clause has a clear subject and verb before adding more complex structures.
