Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's generation, some agree that anyone can do anything even if they do not have the skills or talent such as in arts, music, literature and others. While other disagree because they think that tale ted individual deserves more recognition.
There should always be a limitation or boundaries between talented popele versus those without a talent. Although, there is no issue that some does not have talent. In my opinion, I disagree that anyone can do anything even without a talent.
Being talented is a unique trait of an individual and it is rare gift. Thus, it should be considered as a very important part of a person's life and should be treated as a priority.
Having a talent should be part of criteria in every countries in terms of joining music, dancing, arts and so on because talent is natural and should be appreciated an dgiven importance rather than giving avenue to those who have no talent but famous.
In this generation, we should prioritise those with talent because they are the backbone of entertainment. Many people without talent gets famous because of their attactive appearance while those with real talent are being ignore becuase of their status in life and physical looks which should not be the case.
For instance, in singing, nowadays even those with ugly voice are now sisngkng and even become more famous and viral than thise with angelic voice. This should be restricted so those with gifts should be known.
In conclusion, I strong disagree that talented people should be outshined by those withno talent at all because being talented is a natural gift and it should be recognised as part of our culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is identifiable: you disagree with the idea that people without talent should gain recognition at the expense of genuinely talented artists. You also give relevant examples, particularly the contrast between singers with “ugly voice” and those with an “angelic voice.” However, the response only partly develops the task. It focuses mainly on who deserves recognition, rather than explaining the broader claim that people without talent can become rich and famous and genuine talent is undervalued. Several points, such as talent being “a priority” or a criterion for joining the arts, are asserted without explaining how this would work or why it is fair. Develop each main reason with clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs, an example, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the central argument, and phrases such as “For instance” help signal an example. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear. The opening sentence beginning “While other disagree” is incomplete, and the paragraph about talent as a “unique trait” does not clearly connect its claim to the next point about selection criteria. Some links are also mechanical or imprecise, including “Thus” and “Although” where the relationship between ideas is not fully clear. Organise the body around distinct reasons, use complete topic sentences, and make each example explicitly support the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recognition,” “natural gift,” “entertainment,” and “viral,” which helps communicate your subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “a limitation or boundaries,” “giving avenue,” and “backbone of entertainment.” Spelling errors—including “popele,” “attactive,” and “becuase”—also make the writing less fluent to read. Aim for precise phrases that express your argument, such as “set standards for professional opportunities” or “deserve greater recognition.” Proofread carefully, and avoid relying on repeated forms of “talent” by using accurate alternatives such as “artistic ability” or “skilled performers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concessive structure in “Although, there is no issue…” and a reason-and-result sentence beginning “Many people without talent…” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “While other disagree” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, while “some does not have talent” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “Having a talent should be part of criteria in every countries,” article and plural forms are also inaccurate. Work on complete sentence boundaries, agreement, and articles, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb. More accurate control of these basics will make your ideas easier to follow.
