Student answer (Band 5.0)

IN SOME COUNTRIES PRESENT SITUATION IS AN ATTITUDE THAT "ANYONE CAN DO IT" IN THE ARTS , MUSIC, LITERATURE, ACTING, ART, ETC..., BUT PEOPLE WITHOUT HAVING ANY TALENT THEY ARE GETTING RICH AND MORE FAMOUSE AND REAL TALENT IS NOT CONSIDERING ANYWHERE AND NOT VALUED OR APPRECIATED.

I REALLY AGREE WITH THESE THING, BEACUSE IN ALL TYPES OF INDUSTRIES ARE RUNNING BY THE "REPUTATION AND NEPOTISM" I REALLY HAD A LOT OF EXPERIANCE LIKE THIS. I BECAME A FOOL IN THAT KIND OF TIME.

IN MY COLLAGE DAYS I WENT FOR A CRICKET TOURNMENT EHICH IS "EENADU TROPHY" IT IS DISTRICT LEVEL COMPETITION. I AM THE CAPTAIN OF OUR TEAM I WENT FOR TOSS AND UMPAIR SAYS TO ME AND MY OPPENENT CAPTAIN IS THIS IS THE FINAL MATCH OF THE TOURNMENT THIS MATCH WILL DECIDE THE WINNERS. AND ALSO STATE BOARD CRICKET SELECTORS ARE CAME AS CHIEF GUESTS SO PERFORM WELL AND TRY TO IMPRESS THEM WITH YOUR TALENTS. I THINK THESE IS WONDERFULL OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE MY TALENT INFRONT OF THEM. BUT THE REALITY IS THAT OUR OPPONENT CAPTAIN IS SUB-INSPECTOR SON. SO I PERFORMED VERY WELL BUT AT THE END THEY SUPPORTED TO HIM AND SELECTED FOR STATE LEVEL CRICKET TOURNMENT THEN I REALISE THE REPUTATION WILL KILL THE REAL TALENT THESE IS MY PERSONAL EXPERIANCE ON THE TALENT IS NOT VALUAD IN THESE DAYS.

FOR EXAMPLE IN MOVIES THE 'MEGA FAMILY' IS DOMINATING "TOLLYWOOD FILM INDUATRY" VERY MUCH WITH THAIR INFLUENCE.

BEACUSE OF THAT, I AGREE WITH GENUIN TALENT WILL NOT VALUED AND NOT CONSIDERABLE ANYMORE

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear position—“I really agree”—and give relevant examples from a cricket selection experience and the film industry. The personal story helps explain your concern about influence overriding ability. However, the response only partially develops the task: the cricket example is detailed, but the link between this experience and the broader claim about arts is not fully explained, and the film-industry point is only one sentence. The conclusion repeats your view rather than drawing the reasons together. The response is also 243 words, below the required 250; 16 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count. Develop the arts-related example and explain how fame or wealth can be gained without talent to address the question more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an opening position, a personal example, a film-industry example, and a concluding statement. The cricket story follows a mostly understandable sequence, and phrases such as “For example” signal a shift to another point. However, progression between ideas is limited: the opening repeats the question, and the final paragraph largely restates the opinion. Some connections are unclear, particularly how the cricket selection story supports the claim about people becoming rich and famous in the arts. Several sentences run together, making relationships between events harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and linking phrases to show how each example supports your argument, and separate the stages of the story into shorter, logically connected sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “nepotism,” “selectors,” “showcase my talent,” and “influence,” which helps communicate your main concern. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “real talent is not considering anywhere” and “reputation will kill the real talent” do not express the intended idea naturally; “genuine talent is overlooked” and “connections can prevent talented people from being recognised” would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “famouse,” “experiance,” and “tournment” are also frequent and distract the reader. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing recognition, ability, and unfair advantage, and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate a sequence of events and use some longer structures, such as “I think these is wonderful opportunity to showcase my talent infront of them.” However, the response relies heavily on simple clauses, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and sentence structure appear throughout, for example “people without having any talent they are getting rich” and “selectors are came as chief guests.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “I am the captain of our team I went for toss.” These errors can make the reader work to understand the message. Practise forming complete sentences with one main clause and a correctly joined supporting clause, then check tense, articles, and subject–verb agreement.
